I know this is last minute and I have only just realised no one has write up this thread so i am proposal we just do another small conquest on bazaar or possible seine crossing.

Sup ladies and gents, long time no timeless ;)

Sorry for the confusing double presentation, I had this account registered to an old email that no longer existed so I did this to get hold of someone who could help me out with it, this time it was faceless and two more bros :beer: :cheers:

Today I do work in several communities and do a bunch of studying and distance classes so that I can continue my passion for videogames and eventually be running my own or employed in a game company developing (programming) games, and due to this schedule I won't be playing battlefield (3) as much as I'd like to, when close quarters comes out I will def be getting that and giving it a go (eventhough I don't really like the idea of BF3 trying to imitate COD- although who knows, it might be super awesome and give us the INF gameplay bf3 has been missing).
I also miss bf2142 but I don't know if timeless has servers in that anymore :<

Another thing is that Ive matured a lot since last time I GMd here so I doubt I'll be bugging the crap out of people as much as I used to :)

So basically what I'm trying to say is that I'd like to come back and help with everything that I can, hopefully you guys will let me ;)

AND have announced the release if its Trinity range of APU's today.

unfortunatley its in the mobile market so for us gamers theres not a huge amount to cheer about.
however as most of us use laptop/notebooks and its AMD's first chance to actually show us what bulldozer/piledriver can do after the clusterf*** release of that architecture last year.

finally AMD have managed to get their house in order and release a chip to challange Intel.

very good news indeed.
unless you are looking for an "ultrabook" (and lets be honest why the hell would you lol) AMD Trinity is now on par with ivybridge.
there is no doubt that Intels CPU is better but with the tidying up of the architecture that Trinity represents and its massive APU ability the smart money (at least for the short term) now swings over to AMD.

Now we need them to sort out the CPU part if the chip and give us desktop processors to challange Intel once again

I HAVE read the TimelessGaming rules

I was banned form TG8 for Glitching. Funny thing is I don't glitch. A clan mate (LordOfAwesome - was also banned perm. for glitchin seconds after me) and I made it throught to A (were attacking as US), we put up a beacon and spawned from there. So please be kind and unban us. ACE Army Members don't cheat. And we don't glitch either. Just because some teribads raid the chatbox and accuse other people of cheating/glitching doesn't make it true.

Banned for spawnraping???

I got banned for spawnraping today for "no reason".
I just played few games and it wasnt much of a spawn rape there. And the round ended before I got to the stated "spawn rape" part, I quitted my self when the round ended and left the PC without looking what the battlelog posted. Now I returned and the log stated that I had been banned for spawnraping etc?

Can someone explane me this?

When I try to rejoin I get this:

Hey people,

I'm sure some of you remember me!

I've really not being able to get into other FPS games since 2142 died out, I've tried the new BF games (BC2 and BF3), but I just can't get into them.

Recently I've come across a 'free to play' FPS that I enjoy as much as I did 2142, and that of course is Tribes Ascend.. It is a reincarnation of the 1998 title Tribes built on the Unreal Engine 3. The game is developed by a small company called 'HiRez' who are very well known for working with the community and bringing changes, additions and applying tweaks based on community feedback, which is very rare these days. The game has no advertising as HiRez are their own publisher, so it's likely most people aren't even aware of the game they are missing!

Your probably thinking 'FREE?!?' what's the catch? Well that is micro transactions, they are adding Skins and Weapons frequently, which you can buy with Gold (In-game currency - purchased for real cash) or (XP - Earned from playing the game). All items you can buy with gold, you can buy with XP. Gold is just a faster way of getting extra unlocks or skins for your class of choice.

Tribes Ascend is very reminiscent to the old FPS titles, if you liked games such as Quake and Unreal Tournament chances are this is your type of game. It's skill ceiling is through the roof as is it's pace, due to this it's probably one of the most skilful games I've ever played as well as one of the most rewarding. It is such a dynamic game due to the fact that it's mainly based around CTF and has multiple classes and roles.

The main roles consist of:

Offense

- Capping (Grabbing the enemy flag and bringing it back to your own base (often having to hold on to it in standoff situations where both flags are off). In order to cap, you should know some basic routes and be skilled at skiing.)
- LO (light offense)- Also defined as distract or clear, you're responsible to make sure your capper gets out safe with the flag. You might also have to take down the gens and shoot at enemy vehicles if they're prohibiting your capper from making it home. Escorting you capper is also a tactic where you follow your capper home to make sure the enemy doesn't return their flag. During standoff situations (both flags off stands), LO are trying to return their flag. Medium armor offense are still defined by this term. You should be a skilled dueler.)
- HO (heavy offense)- Similar to LO except that you're in heavy armor (mediums are defined as light offense). Most of the time you're firing MIRV/Mortar shots at the stand when your capper is about to come in in order to clear the stand. You should know spots and positions to spam stuff at the enemy stand.)
- Vehicle Offense (You'll sometimes see people get into vehicles such as shrikes and tanks in order to spam projectiles at the enemy stand to clear for ally cappers.)

Defense

LD - (light defense) - Term that refers to either stay at home or chaser defense.
SAH - (stay at home) - The duties of a stay at home defender vary, but the most important are keeping your flag safe from enemy cappers and clearing out the enemy offense so the rest of your team can protect your flag. You may also have to repair your team's generators. You're always basically at your base or around it, and you should be skilled at dueling and stopping cappers.
Chase - A chaser goes wherever his flag goes. If it's safe on the stand, you're protecting it from cappers. If it's in the enemy's hands, you're chasing them down to bring it back home or to keep it safe in the field. Should be skilled at dueling and skiing. Shrikers generally fall into the category of chase.
HoF - (heavy on flag) - A heavy positioned directly on or around the flag, usually with the perk super heavy, who blocks cappers from grabbing the flag.
Vehicle Defense - Shrikes are usually used for chasing and defending your flag whereas tanks are used for killing anyone who gets close to your flag.

Other Positions

Snipe - Snipers most often fall into the stay at home category, but they often play midfield (in order to be in better positions to spot and stop cappers) and o-snipe (offensive snipe, where you harass the enemy defense). You should be good at, well, sniping.
Midfield - Not a very common (or effecitve)position on small teams, but someone may play midfield where their duty is to act like a line, making sure the enemies don't get past it and to your base. Sort of like perimeter defense. You should be good at dueling.
(sometimes seamlessly swinging between offense and defense). Most good players do this anyway, but it can be defined as a constant role. You need to have a good understanding of the game and be skilled at practically everything to play this role.

The game is brilliant but at the same time expect to have to put a week or two of play just to grasp the basics, from rank 1 - 8 you should be put in games with low rank players, after 8 you'll go in the big pond with the big fish!

Hi !

A gamer who began FPS with Quake in 1996-97, for those who know.
Gaming is the way for me to "drop my brain" for a few minutes, hours, (or more?) finaly I think my brain is dead now ^^
