View Full Version : Question of the day? I
Hey all Timeless peeps! :crazy1:
Itīs your favorite Timeless character!
KHARAK
With the question of the day?!
I was thinking about these proxy and VPN servers?
If I am going via proxy or VPN or even maybe both? Dunno whatīs better. Yet, if I were to do this, would I be completely untraceable?
w/ regards.
KHARAK
It should be completely untraceable, yes. Basically you're given a different IP address that's not connected to you or your location. However there are always risks, like leaving your VPN off.
I don't think that you are guaranteed to be completely untracable. If you do like really really bad illegal stuff, then I think that such services might maintain a log of which IP was mapped to which other IP during a certain time, just in case the authorities were to demand this information. However, this would probably only be used if you were suspected of being involved in like terrorist activities or things like that. Not entirely sure tho and it might depend on the service you are using.

This is exactly what I was thinking... I just donīt know so much about this.
From what i've read, even VPN is supposed to be completely untraceable. The only way to get exposed is the human factor.
depends who your stalking.......

I'd say that depends on the service. The technology allows for it to be untraceable, but I'd say it's not uncommon for them to maintain logs in case of anything serious. I'm guessing that it could also depdend on the country that the service is hosted in. They all have their own set of rules.

If you can get net traffic sent to yourself, you can get a tracer packet sent to yourself.
Its just alot harder, and almost undetectable ;)
