Don't forget how EA/DICE love to release games for Xbox 360 but not PC. I am fully expecting the PC release date to be way behind the 360 release.

I read somewhere that release would be 18.12 for EA store copies, those will be released 3 days before than other ones. But couldnt find any confirmation to that...
I played BC2 4 days before we were supposed to be able to play it here in Europe.. That´s because I bought it via the EA store. Guess I´ll be buying Vietnam via EA store too, get a headstart against you guys so I can snipe ya and roast ya :gamer2:
PS. Those 4 days extra that I have, are the reason why I am the best Battlefield player EVER!!!!

So, I heard that people who pre-ordered Vietnam from EA online were supposed to get access to the game today. I ordered it through EA but I haven't had any emails from them with a code to unlock it in the EA Download Manager. Should it just appear there when I next run the manager? I'm still at work so I can't test it until I get home.

15 weapons. Not much.
3 class weapons = 12 Weapons in all there. Then you get 3 weapons for all the classes e.g. flamethrower and what not.
But this expansion is supposed to be more infantry focused.. Not that BC2 is particularly vehicle based, but that could be good.

probably one of the best £10 spent on software ever.
This expansion runs soooo much better than BC2... I don't know that is doing it, but there is practically no rubberband lag at all!
The maps load so much faster and overall FPS and PC performance in the game is much better than in BC2.

My first impression about Vietnam was: I spawned as NVA, ran to the nearest flag and bang, Faceless killed me, I was dead. He got me :) Map was Hill 137 Conq, server 04. Then I started to look at game graphics, first I didn't know what to say about them, but soon I noticed that graphics are awesome! I was also concerned about iron sights. It doesn't matter at all anymore, I'm hooked on Vietnam. Can't wait to get to play this evening! Just perfect.
What do you guys think of Vietnam?
I like that you dont have to shoot 15 AK47 rounds in to the chest of another player in order to kill him.
And I like that every weapon in the game (except UZI and M10) do a lot more dmg, it reminds me more of a real battlefield game.

love it, it looks great, the iron sights work really well (bullet drop seems to have been reduced i think unfortunately)
cant wait to have a few proper matches once ive got used to the maps :)

Well just bought it and well looks great for 5 min then the Game freezes/crashes the GFX driver then falls over and I have to reset my PC ... normal BFBC still works 100% fine ....
Looking like there still plenty of bugs with Vietnam .... sigh unless someone has a miracle cure I do feel like I just wasted £10 ....

For me Vietnam runs 4x better than Bad Company 2.

For me Vietnam runs better also and loading times are faster. Funny how every PC is individual. What works for somebody, doesn't work for somebody else. It depends so much on graphics cards and drivers too...

Yeah looks like your right, updated my GFX drivers etc card wise I have a Nvidia 8800 GTS 512, runs everything fine usually hehe but getting a new PC within a few months so Guess I'll have to wait and see and if it does not work on a new pc I will be annoyed lol

A lot of people like to play one specific map, they like it because they know this map and if you know the enviroment you use it. Thats why you will always see players who are familiar with a map own players who are not familiar with a map.
Other than that I am also thinking about the best for the community, we could be running Hill 137 or Vantage point, but truth is no one likes those maps.
Yesterday we went from a full server as 04 was on Phu Bai Valley, map was switched to Vantage point and we were 6 players on.. Then it switched to Hill 137 and the server died.
Running a map 24/7 is when we choose which map is good and what is good for people.
Now we just got a new map right now, if there is one thing people will want to play its Battle for Hastings.
If we have good servers it means we have a lot of people playing on them and that increase the chances of getting new members.
I just bought Vietnam and SPECACT yesterday, i love all the maps of it. I had break with BF over past 2 months, but now i think i m back on again. I started playing and was so involved and intensed by the combat, the first 10 rounds i did like 25:5 k/d and never played any of the maps before, i realy didnt acknowledged my kills lolz i was just hot with playing Rambo. Also heli fights are so awsome, even more easy to make kills than on normal BC, i hopped in a heli first time and did like 10-20 kills in a row without gunner. But infantry is the greatest of made, Medic become a truely must play where it was not in normal BC, epic infantry fights.

Did lots of kills with m40 sniper rifle ( I agree, sniping sucks but I want all stars and achievements ). Someone even wrote that: "come out of the bushes u muppet". :rofl:

Epic fail, Hill 137 is the best of all Vietnam maps and Conquest mode ftw. There u get feeling for the medic and assault weapons the best way, Fhubar Valley and Hastings instead are more for Vehicles. In BC2 my favorite mode is Rush because the CQ mode is just crapy to the maps, with 10-15 kills on the best player and the rounds are so short in time u cant even take a spot as sniper. For example in BF2142 a good long round of Gibraltar took around 25 Minutes ( while good long Titan rounds took 40 Minutes ), in BC a CQ round doesnt go longer than 15 minutes ( mostly depends on the map, for example Laguna Alta ! there the matches run under 10 Minutes, u just started walking and oops game over ). The Vietnam maps compensate the the short time with more heavy loaded close combats with more bushes and flamethrowers, also these combats are different to BC2 CQ depending on destroyable buildings. On vannila BC there are not much maps which are good in CQ because they forcing standard padding weapons each, if the map has lots house buildings all players tend to use cg or 40mm only because its the easiest way to get kills and points, no one is safe in the buildings. The only maps where its not are Nelson Bay CQ and Laguna Presa CQ, there ur grenade launcher is useless because u cant see the enemys that good in the bushes to set the 40mm precise and the chance an enemy could survive and rant on u is high, best on these bushy maps is doing medic and play Rambo or take a shotgun and stripe through the wood or hide as sniper somewhere and try to be a Vassili Zaitsev. BtW being sniper is good on any map its the strongest class imo ( mortar ! ), but...... u cant win a match with an overdosed sniper only team... mostly if there are to many snipers in a team there is to less wall on the front to face in defending or to break through when attacking ( in Rush mode its the importants thing for the attackers to break trough while on CQ its nearly unimportant, example Port Valdez ! 16 players = 10 snipers and 6 CG only nabs ). U see the Terrain make the weapon and the tactic and most people are not good with any weapon in all situations and on every terrain so they go and play the easiest they get ( lol thats why Valpariso is so favored and lmfao god bless these noobs because they are my potential kills :) ).
To the point u said about people mostly enjoy playing only 1 map because they know the Terrain is not quite correct at all, they just play the map which its easiest to play because they can easy pad their soldier up to new ranks and unlocks or to k/d. Most people who play only 1 map are just going for stats and mostly the sad truth is they are not good in a various ways of combat situations in a war so they just go the easiest way. They do like 20-30 kills regular on their favorite map because they played there like 1000 times and know every leaf of the bushes ( oh wonder ), but when u meet them on another map u see them total failing. Thats why i respect some old BF-high-rank-Legends who are good in anything and on any terrain in any situation, with the knife over to with all weapons over to every Vehicle, trust me there are only a handfull of players on the planet who are very experienced in overall ( u can meet them on any war and they face u hardest ).
I dont like the idea of 24/7 one map only servers, when i saw correct we have 1 server running Phubai Valley only 24/7 and 1 server running Hastings only 24/7 ? Imo we should set 1 Server with 1 map only 24/7 running and on the other server all BC2V maps in full rotation.
We should start a poll and let our admins and members voting which map they want 24/7, just my Cent to the end

I like Hill 137, but we aint getting any server running with it.
Now we have Hastings and Phu Bai and the servers have been running since then.
Better that we have full servers than empty ones, even though we have to sacrifice leaving out good maps that we like.
Its hard getting a server running when we are so few starting them, if we had more helping out getting them running we might still be having Hill 137.
But Vantage Point kills the server, people just dont like it.
Phu Bai was the most popular map before Hastings and when we had all maps on 04, the server would pretty much only be alive when Phu Bai was running. For instance this other day before we changed 04 to Hastings, we had a full server as Phu Bai Valley was on and then it switched to Vantage Point and we were 6-8 players on, next map Hill 137 the server was dead.
