Just got my G11 and I heard that you can literally download the macro's for it and add them.

Is this true?

wouldn't know Macros are against the online terms and conditions from EA

So why do keyboard makers Logitech install them on their keyboards AND provide a default profile for Battlefield 2142.?

same is with motorcycles =) they can go faster but you arent allowed to drive faster =) so just do something and it will move faster =) its not allowed but it works
same as with macros, it is not allowed but it works =)

better to use your fingers.

surely a macro drops rdx then bang. There is no control there.

Yup a lot of peeps use macros and sadly there is no real way of detecting them.

To be honest I dunno if I will use them, but if they breach the rules then I wont.

Are macros agains terms of use? Then why you wont ban users of those?

Well I welcome anyone in the UK to come and see how I play so long as they bring some beer, and they will see I don't even use the G11 software to program macros.

I love the keyboard though.

I suspect they are OK for some circumstances and lets face it, they're here to stay. I'm with G-Zap, I think you're giving up some of the control for the convenience.

This is the 'jumpduck' script (and other scripts) argument from cs circa 2000AD. People wanted to ban for that then too.
