apparently (I read somewhere)
Wprime suits AMD over intel whereas superPI suits intel over AMD
something to do with caches and hyperthreading
obviously those of us with monster I7's are going to eat everyone else for breakfast anyway
but im looking forward to applying a mild overclock to my cpu and see what I can do with this one

Once you start test other settings, its hard to stop
This is still a 920, this time its UNDERVOLTED, its on 1.19volt running at 3.6ghz 60c temp, Prime95 is still happy with the setup still only 30mins in though :)
on my new Hex core, AMD phenom II 1055t 2.8Ghz (~3.3Ghz turbo)
I bought the cheaper one (1055t) because its the same core as the more expensive AMD offering but just clocked down
will apply a slight over clock soon when ive ensured all is well with the system
ive literally just installed this chip, on an AM2+ board with DDR2 (which will be a bottleneck) will be upgrasing to a newer MOBO/chipset next month
cool and quiet is on and turbo will not do anything here because it utilising all the cores...

nice one, give us results :)
will do mate, once im sure its settled in ok I will push it up to 3.4GHz (4Ghz is possible with this chip when tweaking voltages but I never bother with that anymore so will just play with the base clocks to get 3.4)
Im expecting a sub 8 second wprime as the 1090t (the up-multipliered core which is the same as mine) should get about 8.5seconds at 3.2GHz....
but we will see :)
----
PS what im most happy about here is the cost of this chip vrs what it will do, I paid £150 (177euro) for the core
its never going to beat the big boy I7's for single core processes, they are clocked far to high and just do more sums per core/cycle than AMD can manage, but with 6 cores at this sort of price AMD can really claim more 'bang for buck' than Intel. especially with the utterly ridiculous pricing of Intels version. I know if I pushed this core to 4GHz I would be seeing a wprime of 6-7seconds !!!!
ok I turned off turbo for stability and had a quick tweak
this is at 3.5GHz (not 1GHz....ignore wprime it doesnt detect settings because of cool n quiet)
