Ok, i thinked to start update thread as i think we dont have that one yet, and there is updates coming so fast so maybe we could add them here..
R9 (server side) changelog below:
· admin.say command implemented
- the output currently looks a bit funky on the game client, like so: Player: [Server]: <text>
but with the next game client it will look like: Server: <text>
· admin.yell to squad has changed (you need to specify both team and squad)
· squad numbering has changed – the “no squad” squad has ID 0, and real squads are 1 and up.
· Autobalance improved, it shuffles people both during and between rounds now, and does a better job. No way to turn it off via admin interface yet I think.
· mapList* commands reworked
· banList* commands reworked
· listPlayers command added
· admin.listPlayers command reworked (GUID, kills, deaths, ping and score added)
· Players have non-PB GUIDs now (these are distinct from PB GUIDs)
· onChat event reworked
- now it specifies target player subset as well
- shows text before profanity filtering
- client-originated chat messages starting with “/” make it to the server, and broadcast via onChat, but are not broadcast to other game clients
- use “/!<command>” if you want to be able to send commands to your homemade rcon tools without showing the commands to other players
· player.onAuthenticated added (it’s triggered when a player receives GUID)
· player.onSquadChange, player.onTeamChange implemented
· Couple of crash fixes
· Support for “region” setting

Hmm, quite lot stuff at next updates :) Lots of good stuff too...
here is the R7 client changelist:
MP – New Server browser
MP – Added 15 second spawn timer for Conquest/Rush gamemodes at the start of round to prevent high end machines getting the upper hand before other machines load in.
MP – Crash fixes relating to ALT+TAB at different times throughout the game
MP – Hang fix when trying to connect to a full server multiple times
MP – Deletion of soldiers now possible through the account pages in game
MP – Removed screen flash during loading
MP – Added support for colour blind players
MP – Fixed crashes relating to faulty server banners
MP – Servers closing during connection no longer cause the client to hang
MP – Auto team swap reflects correctly in the scoreboard
MP – Fixed scoreboards when switching teams before spawning
MP – Rush scoreboards fixed
MP – Veteran ranks no longer display as “12”

SP – Supply create at “Resupply at Flynn’s create” objective now supplies weapon ammo
SP – Hang fix when reaching the objective “Destroy Enemy Zu23”
SP – Fixed hang after “Storm Cockpit” objective
SP – Changed melee attack raycast to be detailed
SP – Game no longer crashes when transitioning between SP_03B to SP_04A when installed in Polish
SP – Game no longer crashes when killed by the first two enemies in the trenches on SP_01 when installed in Italian
SP – Updating to R7 will invalidate your single player save game. If you update you will need to play your last mission from the start. If you do not update you will not be able to play multiplayer.
Here is the R10 Server changelist:
Punkbuster is required ON for ranked servers
Ranked servers cannot be started with a password
Autobalance message goes to text-chat instead of in the middle of the screen
Added weapon balance tweaks to a number of weapons – we are eagerly awaiting feedback!
Edit: From Dice: "Our current plan is to allow Steam to test the patch tonight and all being well we will look to release R7 client and R10 servers on Wednesday morning European time"

Bad Company 2 Patch Release Times

DICE's Mikael Kalms posted on the EA UK Forums that the upcoming Bad Company 2 patch has passed QA testing. Servers will be taken down at 9am (GMT +2) Wednesday, April 21 and should be back up by 11:59am (GMT +2).

5:59am EDT
Other Time Zones
All versions of the game client have passed QA now.
All game servers will be taken down for updates on Wednesday Apr 21st, at 09:00AM (GMT+2). They should all be back by 11:59AM (GMT+2).
During this time window, we will also release the new game client.
Check back after 11:59AM (GMT+2), and try out the new game client!
I have just patched mine from 523648 to new version 529843 which took around 5 mins.
So far I cannot connect to any servers as expected. I can see a few changes in the server browser menu's, new icons and full server names etc. looks better. :good2:

Well, it didnt take long, weapon changes revealed :)
As requested by the community, here is the exhaustive all inclusive changelist of all balance updates made in the R10 Server update for PC.
Increased the base range of all Automatic and Semiautomatic weapons for more consistent close range combat.
Slightly increased the damage of Semiautomatic rifles over long range for more consistent damage output.
Increased the zoomed burst accuracy of LMGs and decreased LMG accuracy when moving to reduce LMG run and gun.
Decreased the base damage of the M60 and XM8 LMGs to bring them in line with the other LMG damage values.
Decreased the damage of the PKM over long range to balance it with other LMGs.
Increased the base damage of the Type88 LMG to balance it with other LMGs.
Slightly reduced the base damage of the M16 and G3 to balance the increased range.
Slightly increased the damage of the AEK971, F2000, AN94, and AUG over long range to balance them with other Assault Rifles.
Reduced the lethal blast range of the 40mm grenade and M2CG to highlight their role as a secondary weapon against infantry.
Slightly Reduced the max range of the 40mm shotgun to balance it with other shotguns.
Slightly increased the base damage of shotgun rounds and reduced their range to clarify ideal shotgun combat distance.
Reduced the base damage of the PP2000 to balance the increased range.
Increased the damage of the 9A91 over long range to balance its lower magazine size.
Increased the damage and range of the M9, M93 pistols to make them more desirable as a secondary weapon.
Increased the range of the MP443 pistol to make it more desirable as a secondary weapon.
Increased the damage of the MP412 over long range to balance its low rate of fire.
Slightly reduced the rate of fire of the M1911 pistol to balance it with other pistols.
Increased the repair and overheat speeds of the Power Tool. Now overheats sooner but repairs the same amount before overheating.
Increased the maximum number of Motion Sensors that can be carried from 2 to 3 and increased the speed which new sensors are acquired from ammo boxes.
Significantly increased the speed of the Tracer Dart projectile to make it more effective against airborne targets.
Increased the reload time of the Mortar Strike and reduced the damage it does to heavily armored vehicles.
Decreased the range of Bolt Action Sniper and Pump Shotgun Slug rounds when using Magnum Ammo for better Kit Balance, especially in Hardcore.
Slightly increased the Health of soldiers in Hardcore for better Kit Balance.
Increased the benefit from the Medkit Heal+ specialization to make it more desirable as a Specialization.
Decreased the benefit from Vehicle Reload Speed to balance it against other Vehicle Specializations.
Slightly decreased the benefit from accuracy specializations to balance the changes to range and accuracy tweaks.
Fixed a bug where the BMD3 would take extra damage to the front armor.
Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons.
Increased the damage of AA guns against all targets. The AA gun should be much more effective against infantry on Port Valdez.
These changes will eventually make their way to the 360 and PS3 as we work with our partners Microsoft and Sony to continue to support BFBC2 on all platforms.

New server side patch has been released R11... not much new this time.
Favourites lists
If you have ANY R10 servers in your favourites list you will continue to get the bug where they all appear as the top R10 server. We will be making sure all providers update R10 servers to R11.
Squad Death Match and Squad Rush showing as Hardcore
Neither of these game modes will force Hardcore to be shown anymore.

There's an M14 EBR in that video with a scope on it! Is that a new feature of the next patch? Last time I checked, I couldn't put scopes on any of the common pool weapons.

its since the release of BC2 for Xbox360 and PS3 i think, i saw the M95 with a reddot scope i a video (i cant find the video, it was one of the first BC2 videos)
He´s referring to the M14 Mod rifle and the other ones. Such as the G3, M1 Garand and what others there are. In the video that Chriss posted you see the M14 with a Red dot or 4x Scope can´t remember. Just imagine how efficient the M14 and M1 Garand will be with scopes :P
Yeah, I've used my M95 with a red dot sight :P
Hopefully the PC patch will let us attach scopes to our M14's!

I have lost the thread where dice people discussed about this, but some people are experiencing that box comes behind when enemy is running, so this should fix it

After a lot of trials and tribulations, all versions of the game client has now completed QA successfully.
We will do no more testing on it.

The Balance tweaks are as followed:

The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory.

Yeh, i dont mind about queuing and its fair for other players too...
But maybe this could be used as "golden ticket" for a month/week to attract new members, make some competition or something and announce it at loading screen...

Are we ever going to see NEW maps, instead of DICE just re-using the same 5 over and over?
I´ve only played Atacama of the new maps... I got one word.. "Dust".. and more dust.. I don´t know if my graphics are causing it but it is unbearable for me.. Especially when on defense side. When facing towards the attacking base all I see is white and more white.. Enemy soldiers are standing right in front of me and I cant see ****. Just see a lot of red triangles floating around.
Will try Port Valdez later, hope it´s better ;)

Ye I figured.. Still a nuisance.
They made it the same way on Laguna Presa (rush). For the defenders on the first section, when they face towards the attacking base they get blinded. But as in Atacama and Presa, the attackers have clear view towards the defenders.
I still find it to be annoying.
But yes, as you said it was designed that way. I just think it´s too extreme on Atacama Desert.
By glaring out the attackers first homebase, it helps to prevent those damned pesky snipers on the defenders baserape ;)

yeee... but... I think it´s a bit too extreme.. I can´t at all see the end of my own base :P The visibility is like 30-40 meters..

thats why i dont like the new maps.... when you get shot in the tail your chopper spins and they can kill you with like 5 bullets... that thing needs to be nerfed badly, it dosnt even overheat!!

It does on the PC version, but yes, I think a small nerfing is in order, though, what it has in firepower, it definatly lacks in both maneuverability and protection, a fast moving chopper, with a decent gunner, should have no issues
But the Hind is dead slow... They did 'tweak the gunship gameplay' last patch. The apache has gone a lot easier to fly but the hind stays the same (i think). They really need to boost the health on all helicopters and people should stop whining about overpowered gunships. It was never a problem in 2142.

"Map pack #5 is set to be released this Wednesday, July 28th and contains White Pass rush and Nelson Bay conquest. As with the previous map packs, this will be free for players who have entered a VIP code."

Havent you heard? Actual new content in games have gotten old. Everybody reuses content nowadays :)
DICE have said they will not release any :quote:New:quote: maps until the release of vietnam.
Deal with it, be happy they are converting maps for you, they could just do nothing.....They have already patched this game more times than 2142 and BF2, be happy with what you have.

There are way too many people complaning about that fact. Personally I don't think it's a problem at all. I think that a new game mode for an old map is almost just as much fun as if it was a brand new map. You still have to learn the map all over again, just as if it was new, in order to work out the appropriate tactics for playing it. A boring map in one game mode can turn out to be the best map ever in another game mode.
This strategy for releasing maps also has another advantage - they can release them at a much faster pace. If they were to work on a brand new map it would take them MUCH more time and effort, which they might not want to dedicate to a game that has already been released. Either we could get all existing maps in all game modes, or we could maybe get one brand new map for one game mode at some point in the future. In that case I *MUCH* prefer the new game modes.
I understand what you're saying, but I personally get quite bored of playing the same map for more than 1 round (I often quit a server after the first round of a map because I don't want to play it again), so only having 5 map designs in total means that after a short while of playing I'm back on the first map I started on.
I'm not only complaining about DICE here, I think that all shooters should have at least 10 maps but my perfect number would be 20. I don't even care if they are not totally unique, I just want enough different areas to fight in that I can play for a long time and not see the same map twice. I know that means a lot of extra work for the devs, but I would rather wait longer for a game to be released so they can make more maps.
In BC2, I would like to see a mixed mode server where each map is played for only 1 round, the modes swap each round, and the same maps for each mode are not next to each other. That way it would have enough variety to be interesting.

I yesterday tested mixed server (i think it was i3D.net), but sometimes it crashed after the round... but could be the server also and not mixed settings fault.
All Servers running all maps now :good2:
And again, Nelson Bay CQ and White Pass rush now in map rotations :good1:

Some fixes are coming for Bad Company 2 for PC, people!
Now.. we want to announce these first fixes we have made and let you know that these are just one part of a bigger list of updates that we are going to release very soon. This update will also require server downtime
This is what we can confirm for now:
- One of the Insignia's requiring an unobtainable Bronze star for the tracer dart – requirement removed.
- Hit registration changes brought over from MOH to BC2; several bugfixes, the client<->server send rates have been increased, some of the hitboxes themselves have been changed. This will increase the accuracy of guns, but will not make much of a difference to the knife.
- Removed the blue box behind the chat window.
- The 2-second immunity when spawning/being revived can will now be immediately remove either by firing, zooming, or any movement (move, crouch, jump). Merely looking around will not remove the invulnerability. In essence: If a person moves, he is never invulnerable. ****ing A!!!!
- 3D vision fixed.

As the title suggests, there is an update for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 coming for the PS3 platform, and it contains multiple changes to the game. This update is also in preparation for our upcoming VIP Map Pack 7 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, which explains the size of it.
We are working hard on getting these fixes out for both PC and Xbox 360 as well, so in the coming days, look for updates on those platforms as well.
Sometime tomorrow the update will be deployed and will be downloadable for everyone starting up their PS3. PS3 players might encounter some temporary outages or suffer from lag during the server updates (between GMT 00:01 2010-11-24 and GMT 00:01 2010-11-25).
Here is a complete list of all the fixes in this update:
- Acog and Red dot scope now equippable on MK-14 and G3.
- Fixed a bug on PC where the G3 would do less damage than intended.
- Reduced VADS push back and damage to balance it with the ZU23.
- Fixed a bug where Vehicle Countermeasures would fail to remove tracer darts at high speed.
- Reduced the reload time for Vehicle Countermeasures.
- Slightly increased the AT4's damage vs armor to emphasize its anti vehicle role while keeping it balanced vs armor.
- Increased the AT4’s top speed and acceleration so users spend less time exposed when firing.
- Increased the AT4's splash damage so it competes with other AT weapons vs infantry. The AT4 still has the least splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Reduced the splash damage of the Carl Gustav to bring it in line with other explosive weapons. The Carl Gustav still has the most splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Increased the 1 shot kill range of the M95 body shot to counter its lower rate of fire.
- Fixed a bug with the SVU that gave it better close range damage than other semi auto weapons.
- Reduced all weapon damage to the MCOM by 50%.
- Fixed a C4 vs MCOM exploit on Atacama Desert.
- Fixed a bug with FOV when aiming the M1911.
- Lowered the close range damage of the AN94 to highlight its long range role.
- Increased the accuracy of the F2000 on the move to highlight its role as a mobile AR.
- Increased the close range damage of the shotguns to give them a greater advantage vs slugs.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the M60 to balance its accuracy advantage vs other LMGs.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the MG3 at close range to balance it with other high rate of fire weapons.
- Slightly increased the damage of the UH6

I paid for the Spectact thingi, and today I got banned for "PBHACK" ?!?!?
and for the last hour more then 100 people got banned on BF BCII for the same reason..
I guess they are having problames with the new version. I bet it is only for th guys that have the new Spectact kit.
