Ok folks I am trying to make a dvd from various old family movies but I wanted to play an audio track from one dvd over the picture from another. I know how to overlay music/audio on movies that I make, but I cant figure out how to lift the audio track off of the other dvd. I know there must be software about but I wondered if anyone knew of any good free stuff that I could use.

Thanks :wahey:

if you use SonyVegas, you can disable the sound layer and use an other layer for an song or smth what you want

I used one a few years ago but i cant remember the name of the software.

It was called DVD to Mp3 or something similar. If you google DVD to Mp3, you will see many links, some freeware.

Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c

Rip or copy the sound layer you like from the DVD, paste on the sound layer you like it to be played on.

But kinda weird request "the sound from a DVD only to put it on another". Is this a music DVD which you wanīt to add to your family DVD? or am I missing something?

If DVD Decrypter dont work I will give Sony Vegas a try :good2:
The reason I need it is my cousin is a classical pianist (really really good) and my mum wants the music from her concert dvd over a video I am making for her (yeah I know its kinda strange but thats what she wants :P )

ok:)

But recommend you rip the DVD first :) extract the video file to Vegas Pro. There is a 31 day free trial on Sony Vegas Pro website.

Vegas Pro might seem super pro at a first glance, but itīs actually quite user friendly :)

I found a new dvd tool its quite handy, its called WinX DVD Ripper, it can change dvd to avi, mpeg, mp4, wmv, mov, flv and take only the sound in mp3 format. It quick and really easy to use.
