Hello mates. I'm somewhat back :) Sorry for being absent the past weeks. Had some problems, sickness and lots of school stuff (never thought welding would get so theorethic)
Anyway. As a restarter, i'm also planning to start with Airsoft. i joined a group of guys who play it for fun, but also seriously in Skrims. This is not a daily hobby, things happen bout every 2-3 weeks.
Getting myself my military clothing :)

Anyway, i still need to buy an airsoft weapon. I'm going for an electric one. And i was hoping on buying an FN FAL.
I was wondering if anyone here did airsoft before, and like to share his experience, to give hints, or to give some info on getting a reliable airsoft equipment.
I rather pay 20€ for a safer and sturdier weapon, then to pay 40€ less and it breaks when a bird lands on it or something

i prefer the .308 round instead of the plastic bullets ;) but hava a look at the
steyr aug airsoft (http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ReviewDetail?reviewID=30)(there are also tests on youtube).

Are those "similar" to paintball guns ?
Never seen airsoft in real life, but i have been in paintball battles.
So fun, usually in forrest with 10-20 people and flag capturing. Few times there has also been battles in old appartment house, 3 floors high. There was made holes to walls, so you could crouch throught those to next room/appartment. Also some slides to floor to another and hay bales for some protection. In this house was no sides, all vs. all :D ... but that house is closed now and forrest battles are only ones left here.
Airsoft focuses alot on replica's of realguns.
Its cheaper on the weapons, but sometimes more expensive on terms of clothing and such

well i play here in sligo with a couple of lads and i have the STEYR AUG very good gun :)
set me back 119euro and i have irish army fatigues which i had for recruitment which was handy..
now equipment... i would say buy clear plastic glasses to protect your eyes a buff ( a bandana sort of thing which can be made into any sort of head ware JUNGLE CAMO)
dont bother with grenades yet.. waterproof (black or dark brown) boots .. a jungle hat or army helmet..
gun attachments.. 2 extra ammo clips. no need for a sight if your gun comes with one but i would suggest a red dot or eotech sight..

Me and my friends used to shoot eachother with thoose kind of guns when we was like 12 or something :)
Had a mp3, a D-eagle and a baretta, dunno what the point was with it all, fun to shoot eachother though. Hurt a lil bit, maybe we shouldve had protection? naaah screw it

Had my first airsoft match yesterday
It was very awesome. Had various missions, defend the bunker, attack the landing zone
or retrieve the blackbox of the enemy plane and so on
Our team consited of 11 of the 30 people of our team. Was a 30 VS 30 match
We won all matches, because we worked together.

Those marshalls scanning the field for rulebreakers, where annoying though.
2 Nice targets, in the open, came in front of me. I was like= YAY my first 2 kills! and right before i fired, a fat marshall came in front of me and stood between us FFFFUUUUUUUUU!
and then a marshall surprised photograffed me :)

No idea! :faint::rofl:
It hits, thats what matters. It has a muzzle velocity of 359 FPS/s wich is a bit to high, but they keep a 5% faulty factor, so i'm good.
Its rather ok on Full auto, but their are faster firing guns
