As most of us (except the Germans ;) ) donīt live in the same country, i think itīs not out of the way, to ask you guys what your political stance is.

By saying political stance, iīm not talking about the name of a political party, but only your ideology :)

All this so that we can gain a greater understanding of each other in the Timeless community :) and how we somehow function together ;) Hope this will get active, havenīt really seen any political treads in any gaming forum so far ;)

Best if we keep it short, when we write about our ideology.

I donīt care if you start debating, it just makes it more fun ;)

Anyways...

Write your ideology and a little reason why:)

Kharak: Conservative (Change to preserve) <--- This is very short

Next... :)

ah, the classic approach, your still entitled to an opinion, whether it effects anything or not.

I'm under the beleif that whats best for a country at a given time, is dependant entirley on the time. for that reason, i dont think that one party is better than any other, it all depends on what is needed at the time, and in the future.

I dont think whats best for a country, is whats most popular in its citizens also, sometimes people have to suffer for the sake of the country, Tax is a perfect example, some people have the impression that tax is an evil and bad thing, that should be small, but then expect things like world class healthcare, you have to pay for it somehow.

Probably a little long, sorry :p

In short I'm a Social Democrat Social Democracy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_democracy)

At the moment there isn't really any political parties I can agree with and will be happy as long as labour doesn't win the next election.

This is always an interesting site: Political Compass (http://www.politicalcompass.org/)

dax linked me this thread because everyone knows that there is no one here more political then me and forced me to post my first post in months so here i go

im a radical anarchist socialist.communist, i believe in equality and freedom for all, i am opposed to hierarchy and those invisable borderds between lands, i am pro abortion, anti war, pro equal rights, i beleive in the gift economy and "to each according to need, from each according to ability" without the inbetween dictatorship of the proletariot. i am opposed to the lack of progress that conservatism brings and the the tweaking of a broken system that mainstream liberals are into. i believe capitalism is not really free at all, and is in fact wage slavery

your a centrist, mix of liberalism and conservatism, you probably think that both views are fine in different ways and that a mixed economy (keynesian) would work, like a lot of people. if you were american you would probably vote democratic party/obama. however, since your irish you would probably either support fianna fail or sein fain, you would be torn between the two, if you cared

I have no political stance. I just live my life, the way i do..

Its because i do not trust politics. None at all.In the end, they just wanna fill their own bags, and dont really care bout the country.

A prime example is my country...........our goverment is RE-TAR-DED. In debates, they ONLY talk but dont do Anything

just remember that you political view is tied to the way you think rather than to a party.
and countries are not run by politians they are always run by the buracrats behind the scenes.
rather than 'political views' i much prefer to think of this question as a 'moralistic standing in reguards to society as a whole' rather than pegging myself to one side or the other of the political 'floor'

polititians have very little to do with politics and in general western social democracy is just a popularity contest rather than an exercise of political will.

you just need to look at the present conservative leader in the UK to realise that. no real policys just endlessly jumping on any popularist bandwagon that will get him more support from the 'floating voter' rather than tying down his core vote. which is why they are loosing there core vote to far right partys like UKIP and the BNP.
BUT he is massively popular with the floating (who are usually female) voters
compaired to the actual prime minister who is international statesman of the year!! but everyone hates........ why?? encumbacy and the press hate him thats why....
it makes me sick that the politics of my country are more about courting the favour of slimy journalists than having any real political will to change what should be changed.

that said... encumbercy is always a factor in just about everyones view of a potential election. a great majority of peole will always vote with their feet away from the present govement simply because they can, rather than over any real policys.

if you dont beleive me? if your in the UK think of two or more policys of the party you will most likely vote for next election.... (and conservative tax cuts dont count as a policy they are just bait for the real capitalists)
i bet no more than 50% of you can BUT you are going to vote for them anyway....
the same way as a lot of people will.... not for a change to the system but for a change of the face at the top....

this is why in the UK there is no real difference between what the main UK partys actually say. just constant attempts to react faster to the latest headline in the press rather than the opposing partys.

so whats my political view......
its that i dont like politics... its all fake...
bring back the monarchy at least they were honest *******s

EDIT--------------------------

lmao im exactly the same positionas ghandi lolllllllllllllllllllll

thing is id have had the sod shot for insulting the monarchy....

Intead of writing all that... There is one word for that: "Hegemony" = A society ruled by the higher class.

I donīt wanna get all conspiracy-like, but if you look at the core of all political systems, you will see that the high class always gains from every single political decision thatīs made!

Especially in my country! Itīs actually very sickening here! Itīs not like the Rockefeller is controlling my country, my country is small, so the familyīs are well known, the rich ass familyīs here gain pennyīs from every decision ever made! and everyone knows it!

My stance is: Conservative (Change to preserve) I wanīt to change my countryīs politics in order to preserve my countryīs dignity.

my 5 cents.

all societys are run by a higher class, always have been and always will be.
simply because someone has got to be in power.

the higher powerful class will always gain from and change regardless of the system, simply because they are already powerful and are able to influence any policy made. Money breeds money and power breeds power.
without a utopian society (which is a ridiculous concept anyway, cause there will always be one sucker trying to get ahead) we will always be stuck with this irrespective of the system involved.

but society in the UK is not really run by a higher class of the rich...
actual change (or resistance to it) is brought about by the work of those (unelected officials) behind the scenes of government and they are almost exclusively middle class.

economic control has been devolved to the central bank so that there is a cheque and balance between the taxation (remains in government control) and interest levels which are the major controls on the economy.

what i find quit disturbing however is not who is actually in control rather the apathy of the voter.
in the UK voter apathy has become so great that all political partys are moving away from their traditional policys towards a media freindly liberal stand point.

on the right side of the floor this means that a lot of those who would have traditionally voted for mainstream partys feel so left out that they allow themselves to be courted by partys like the BNP (a bunch of racist, homophobic, sexist, antisemitic, anti-islamac, anti-europe etc etc.... knobends) or UKIP and there ilk (anti-europe in nature and not especially bigoted in any other way than they would rather those who dont speak english or dont have white skin didnt actually come over here to work... sigh)
and while these partys stand little change of getting any power at all, i find the increasing swing of votes to them to be disturbing.

I think that voter apathy over here has little to do with people not actually caring who is in control rather its more that they dont understand our political system.
the amount of times i have heard people whining that they never even voted for our present prime-minister makes me roll my eyes.
we dont directly elect our first offical we actually elect the party. and the leader of that party becomes the prime-minister. so a majority of people DID vote for him ... sigh again.

Our political system is exactly the same, we vote for the party, and the ruling party then elects a prime minister, which then is (without saying) accepted by the queen.

Though people here still know how that functions.

Other than that, i canīt say anything else, then I totally agree with you.

There will always be a uninformed floater vote, which swallows everything the mainstream media is bringing up, and therefore being a whore of the political system. And the big partyīs know that... All they have to do, is quench the thirst of the floater vote. By agreeing to what the mainstream media finds needed, they will gain votes from the "floaters". The mainstream media has itīs finger in all the polls, the small minded needs of the uninformed, the un-national thoughts. How should i say... The personal need.. (The obama thingy) Canīt really find a word for it in my English vocabulary at the moment.

You know what i mean?
