So, i got new mouse and never before i had ability to change dpi and other settings
Should DPI be maxed out and lover the sensitivity in game settings ?
Max dpi has more accurate/faster i think, but the pointer i wayyy tooo fast....
And is there any other settings which i should concentrate (i play almost only FPS games) ?

for flying use the highest I guess...
the rest depends on what you like :)
but sniping with highest settings is said to be horrible for aiming
yep, on my mouse i have max for tanks and planes, middle for some vehicles and lowest for infantry, but you might have other resolutions on yours, if its a new mouse, prolly higher and lower than my g5.
as said before i also suggest using low mouse sensitivity for infantry otherwise aiming becomes a nightmare, same goes with the tv gunship.
for the vehicles, airplanes and ground cannon medium and high sensitivity are very useful. sniping with the ground cannon becomes quite fun :yes1:
i use, 2000 dpi on the mouse, and 1.0 in game, also go to control panel>switch to classic view>mouse>Pointer options and disable Enhance Pointer Precision, this is a big no no for gamers

Nice answers :good3:
Ok, i think i have found "my" dpi settings. But there is still some adjusts which i dont get completely. But i could not find picture with english so i was forced to take screenshot from my Finnish version.
So DPI is clear, but what about settings below it ?
Nopeus = speed is at 5, i think it is some kind of multiplyer for dpi ?
Kiihdytys = acceleration is at 1, i think i change this to 0 next time ?
And last there is some mouse refresh rate which is in 500, i realy dont know what this for....
I never thought that mouse can have so many options :lol1:

I had boring day at work, so i could read more about these settings.
I think those speed and acceleration are binded to windows mouse settings too. As there is box ticked in setpoint which says "use OS own settings for acceleration and speed".
Next time i will let setpoint to override windows settings, just because then i can set all settings in one place.
Speed, well i leave it alone, as i can adjust that in game too.
Acceleration i will set to 0. I think this is similar to Mitchell's mentioned "Enhance Pointer Precision" in control panel. And i have noticed when i play that there is some acceleration still in use, as i easily aim past enemys. Somewhere i read that acceleration means that more longer you turn, more faster it starts turning. I dont know what i thinked when i installed setpoint to finnish lanquake, some times translations are very bad and gets me confused.
Refresh rate or polling rate, to this i found next sentence: "The Windows-enforced standard of 125Hz gives a standard response time (lag) of 8ms, but setting your polling rate at 250Hz reduces this to 4ms. SetPoint allows you to set polling rates as high as 1000Hz, at the expense of some resource utilization. At 1000Hz your response time will have been reduced to a mere 1ms, which should provide a notable advantage in any competitive gaming environment."
So i will test it at 1000, but i read also that in some computers it will lover FPS dramatically (60 drops below 20), so fraps comes handy with this testing...
Learning continues.... ;)
I use the DPI of 2000 for the Rail gun/heavy vehicles, 1000 for some infantry stuff/general PC use, and 400 for all other infantry stuff. I find it much easier to track targets across the screen using the low DPI, and it's great for sniping!
I use whatever it came like, i just got used to it, no idea what that is
i use a G5, without the drivers installed
like a lot of gaming mice it has 3 settings
low (about 400dpi which i virtually never use except for TV missiles)
medium (about 1000dpi which i use for most playing)
high (2000dpi which i use for all vehicles)

I have thinked to unistall the program, then my life would be much easier. Im starting to be paranoid over all of these settings :lol1: But i believe that i need that program if i wanna use third thumb button.
Most important to me is to get used to mouse, settings cant be so important. Sometimes i even think to switch back to my old mouse...
