I´ve been having major difficulties with video conversion of the .MTS format.

I have a Panasonic HDC-HS9 camera, it records in HDV. It scored very high in ratings.. and i was recommended to buy this one.. :)

I like my camera, but when i wan´t to work with the videos, difficulties emerge..:(

The camera records in a format called .MTS

"What is .MTS ?"

MTS format is a high-definition MPEG, AVC, H.264 transport stream video file format which commonly used by HD camcorders such as Sony, Canon, Panasonic.
.MTS files are used primarily with Sony hardware. Camcorders make use of MTS in the form of AVCHD, a recording format made specifically for camcorders. Some camcorder models from Canon also use MTS files. These files are also present on Blu-ray disc compilations, therefore they are capable of storing quite a large amount of information and data tracks.

Yet.. I´m not sure if there is something wrong with the camera, so that it destroys data.. I can watch the videos on the camera, but when added to the computer, there are weird lines showing in the picture when the camera moves a little or maybe people move in the picture..

(Hardware power is not the issue)

If I convert the files, the picture turns laggy.. I´ve tried H264 MPEG4 and AVI HD.. still the same, always laggy..

I hope someone here has had the same issues as me, and found a solution.

My movie making friends are in Denmark.. so not much help there :(
