View Full Version : Neeed a new mouse!!!
hello there,
after round about 2 years my mouse broke down.
i used to play with a logitech g5. the old version
with only 1 button on the side.
now, i have to get a new one, to go on kicking your asses ;)
in my mind the g5 was and is a pretty good mouse, obivously the best ive had.
but there was one disadvantage i did not like that much, its form!!!
(dunno if its the correct word, i mean how the mouse feels n fits in your hand)
another important aspect i have to obey is, my freaking, or better, my mad mind
(weeeehoooo 3 x alliteration) tells me to get an actual mouse, instead of buying a 2-3 year old model.
my favourite for the time being is the razer deathadder.
any suggestions, ideas, experiences... whatever???
feel free to state your point of view, what mices you like, what is the most important aspect for you... is it the more buttons you have, the better a mouse is...
just give me your thoughts!
i guess i might help me to decide which mouse fits me best!
thanks a lot in advance guys and maybe girls
cheers
MAD^shuj
I have just bought the razer deathadder and its very very good.
Read the reviews here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-023-RA&tool=3
I replaced a Razer Diamonback with this one, The deathadder is a little larger than this
and with 2 side buttons, its actually easier to use these 2 buttons.
This mouse feels very nice, highly recommended ;)

ive tried G3, G5, Razor Lachesis, g9, Razor Copperhead.
and for me its the G5 without a shadow of doubt

Deathadder and Lachesis are very similar.
One is asymmetric and other is not.
Deathadder is made for right-handed only.
Chose between these 2 types.
Im using Lachesis.

take another g5 from logitech,i find is the best mouse, the new version.....
i have also a g5 oldshoolmouse:D and hte mouse is 3 years old and is working as new.....
ohh yeh the problem i had with all these mice is that there too light as im really heavy handed, i had to have a special block made to slot into the g5 to make it weighty
I have G9 and i highly recommend it! Iīve put all the heavy weights in and i like how you can change the skin on the mouse, which i did, gives better grip.. not that i usally loose my mouse out of the hand.. ;)
But has sensitivity on it.. Which is something i now canīt live without:)
Sensitivity on max when in Rorcsh cannon and on minimum when using TV missile:)
Almost cheating;)
PS. i use the G15 keyboard. Very good too, shows your stats and everything in the keyboard, no need to check scoreboard :)
says what your k/d ratio was the last round you played, how far to next rank.. etc.. :)

i had the logitech G5 also but I upgaraded to the G9 and I like it much better. Great mouse. Shape and feel is totally different. i highly recommend you take a look at it as well.:good1:
ok guys, thank you very much for your answers.
i got stuck to me first decision and bought a razer deathadder.
pretty nice mouse. feels really good. and i have the impression that it is much more precise than the g5.
but this feeling might be influenced by the thingy that this mouse is new ;)
give me a few days, than i can tell ya more. but for the time being, i do not regret that i ve bougth it.
cooooool thingy

Sorry Could resist! :yes2:
I was thinking it... But you did it ;)
Naaaa Perry, this one has a very short cable, only 2 buttons and it makes noise during playing a game. And it's designed for players with small hands!

the G9X is more sensitive than the normal G9
G9X: 5000 dpi, Lasersensor 9 Megapixel, Speed 1,6 m/s, acceleration 20G
G9: 3200 dpi, Lasersensor 6,4 Megapixel, Speed 3,8 m/s, acceleration 30G

Ok, i preordered that G500 thingy, was not in stock yet in Finland. I hope they arrive soon :) Also was in same prize than G9...
I have no clue what those sensitive specs mean, but i think they cannot be disadvantage in BF ;)

ok m8s, i need a new mouse too, but i cant decide me, between the Logitech G9x and the Logitech G500...
which is the better one???
personal choice, go to a shop, test one, and choose the one that feels nicer than the other one
I use a Microsoft Sidewinder mouse and I think it's great. I used to use a Logitech G5 before this, but that only had 1 button on the side so I changed it.
It is very strong with a durable scroll wheel. I comes with extra weights and some extra sets of plastic feet instead of stuck on pads that can wear away or peel off. It has 3 sensitivity buttons for you to customize and it even has a small display screen that shows you what DPI it is currently running at.
One other thing that you must think about is the type of mouse mat you are using. Some designs with shiny surfaces or specific colours can have negative effects.
I use an Everglide Titan mouse mat and this thing is awesome! It is a black flexible material with rubber underneath it, so it is comfortable to use. They come in different sizes but the 'GamingMat' should be the best one. Because it is a meterial it can get dirty over a period of time but it is easily cleaned and it comes with instructions on how to keep it good as new.
i use microsoft 2.0a wireless 2 buttons and a wheel fits the hand perfect
and it's alot better than the corded 1 i had to start with

I had that one for ages :faint:
CRAAAAAAP !!!
ok mates, thanks for your 2 cents, but again... i ve already made my decision!!
;)
its a deathadder from razer and im pretty satisfied with that thing!!

I've used all three. G9 is me favorite. Feeels goood in the hand... Much better for me than G5. Just bought a new G9 on Saturday as back up for my older G9 but I have not tried X version. Now I see the new one is X version. Had not noticed until now. They look identical so maybe sensitivity is the only difference.
ohh also if ur a heavy handed fu**** like me, then ull need extra extra weights, i put the max in my G5 something like (25g) but wasnt heavy enough, and i got my dad to make some on a cnc machine at work out of tuncston and its given me about 100g which is AWESOME!

I had same thought as im used to rest my whole palm on the mouse. That third button is nice too, but mine wont work in BF, but i think it only needs some tweaking. Thinking to put nade there :)

The day before yesterday i bought the Razer Mamba.. really expensive 130 bucks (Euro) but i can say 20% are for the package... really crazy.

But its really ergonomic.. i like to touch it. It's a real treat for the hands.
And you have the choice, wireless or with wire, also programmable buttons and so on.
