View Full Version : Widescreen Issue after having installed Win 7

Recently installed Windows 7 (7100), updated drivers, bios, windows updates, antivirus, game patches, directx, etc........

Booted BF2142, the game works but the screen is not in the widescreen format to fill the 24" Del screenl. I have 2 black vertical spaces either side of the main screen. GAme can be played fine but its annoying not making the most of the screen.

Tinkered with the game video settings and settings in nvidia control panel with no luck.

Any ideas?

Have u updated to the latest ATI/Nvidia Drivers?

If not try adjusting the target line of your shortcut...

Right click on the shortcut and select properties, see the target line, should be something like below..

I've added +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200 for 1920x1200 resolution.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

hiho m8, try this one!


right click on the desktop icon -> directory -> add this: +szx 1920 +szy 1200


example:
C:\Programme\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

wow wow wow!!! You saying i can make my resolution bigger.. ? Cause i wanŽt to have my 1920x1080 resolution! Thought it couldnŽt be done with BF2142..

So what do i add in "right click on the desktop icon -> directory -> add this: +szx 1920 +szy 1200" ?? :)

I have only \Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +widescreen 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080 so what is that +menu 1 ?

it must be there, if you intall the game...

its not a part of the widescreen thingi

Oh then you must ignore the resolution setting in-game as this will report something

other than the setting on the target line you added.

If you change the resolution setting in-game, it may not work, so you might have to redo the above. ;)

lol "CLICK HERE" !! :P hehe was looking for the screenshots you were talking about :)

EDIT:

I tried adding it, just as you did, but it wouldŽt start up when i did it.

I added the resolution 1360x768, because this Screen (which is not mine) doesnŽt support 1920x1080 resolution.

All i did was, replacing the numbers, with the resolution i need on this screen. Any ideas?

actually.. if you have a widescreen monitor then i would suggest using "+widescreen" instead of the "+fullscreen" tag.

This feature was introduced in 1.50 as beta to fix graphical widescreen glitches such as incorrect fov, weird looking menu boxes and squashed text.

aaah, so i add widescreen ;) iŽll tyr that one :)

i added +widescreen 1 +szx 1360 +szy 768.. and now, when i go to options in the game, i have the ability to change the resolution (In game) to 1920x1080.. Guessing this has something to with adding the "+widescreen" ?+ :)

Anyways! it works:) But everything looks so different :P hope it wonŽt change the gameplay :P

interesting... I'm using the dell 24 also but my shortcut has only:

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 and works fine. Think I'll switch to widescreen like you guys suggest just the same.:yo:

try setting it to +widescreen 1 +szx ur screens max resolution +szy ur screens max resolution, when i play public, i use 1680 x 1050, full graphics apart from shadows and still manage 100 fps unless its titan then its more like 3 and when not on full and low resolution i get about 5 =D
