when i load 2142 its perfectly fine, change all my GFX and hud ect, but when i try to change the sound files it just crash's to desktop and for the life of me i do not know why, and i cant play on normal sound settings because it sounds AWFUL, help me please!

you try to change the sound ingame? or the sound files somewhere in the folder?
you might wanna check on audio card drivers?
yeah ingame, i can do it out of game in the audio.con file but i dunno what is what.... and its not the audio drivers because ive used the same ones for months and never had this problem

well, windows is known for just changing files without demand of it lol...
try reinstalling the sounddriver...
other thingi...
let somebody else on his own PC do the configurations you want, then let the friend send the audio.con to you and you replace the old one with the new one...
ITS FIXED thanks for help, turns out the game just didnt install properly ...
