View Full Version : Comeback of Timeless Titan?

Hey there,
I admit it: I was and still am one of the biggest fans of Timeless Titan (for those who don't know/can't remember: Timeless Titan was the server with all Titan maps in rotation)! Suez is definitely a very good map but slowly I get really tired of playing this single map again and again as it is the only Titan map offered by Timeless (except the NS Titan maps of course).
I have no idea what happened to the old Titan server (193.93.46.77:16567) as I couldn't find it at any game but if it was possible to switch it online again as Timeless Titan I would highly appreciate that (and I am sure there are a few more regulars who think like that). I also don't know how successful the server would be after such a long absence and that there might be a little chance that it could kill Suez or that they could kill each other.
If the yellows are afraid of that or if there is any other reason not to let Timeless Titan return I will fully understand that. If not, once again, I would love to see such a server up and running again!!

m8 good idea but we had it up and running last time and we could not keep it filled, due to the servers crashing all the time it just died off :(
i'm also a fan of the titan server, but as with so many other multi map servers, they are great after we get them going, some of them stay up for hours, untill they crash, and they die off again
for example, take a look at the server listings now, i can almost bet that suez, gib and tampa are up and running (at most points during the day). but at a maximum, only one of the other 3 are up, and even that will have taken about 5 advanced members or admins to start, and will be dead the second it crashes

i have always preffered all titan maps server to suez server, and now that i have the new pc ready i can help populate again, who knows, another try?
it never gets dull

sadly theres not enough structure to get it started as often as its needed to have it get regular players
I personally never played Timeless Titan. I was content with all the other servers.
Other people here have got it right though Marcel, It just wouldn't stay full.
Well maps like Sidi power plant, Subai tabai are fun titan maps
Used to play Timeless titan alot, but ye, server crashes ;(

Yes, I can remember "the last days" of Titan before it disappeared. And I think I can remember the crashes as well. And that not many players played there even though there were many attempts to start it. But that was 3 months ago! Of course that does not have to mean that there will be more players now but at least the server won't crash that often I could imagine.
Additionally there obviously are other fans of rotating titan maps, so at least give it a try, I suggest!
well id love to see it work, but then we all would have to pitch in and really work to get that thing started everyday, and thats harder than it sounds, thats one of the reasons its died more than once

Agree with everyone else, really enjoy Suez, but would love to see some of the other maps. Especially Sidi or Shuia Tiba. What makes the server crash on the other maps?? .. is it because they are larger?
I also love to see the ret of the titan maps but as all ready said they seemed to be hard to get started, Why it kept crashing i don't know may be one of the yellows could answer that one. If it was restarted i'd deff be in to help get it going even if i put on of my grunts in befor going to work. But Fhen is right it would be up to all us titan lovers to make it work, just my 2cent

we tried a comback of titan several times and every time it died after some days.......

nothing makes the maps crash more than the others as far as i know, its more to do with the fact that the other servers have dedicated fans who play on them, and restart them when they crash

Yep, i suppose there are so many servers running out there that the folks who just "pop in" on Timeless just go elsewhere.... the hussy's! :)

just a couple of questions:
1. Why arnt all the titan maps in there, tampa and bridge are missing at least
2. Are the NS maps going to be staying? because Bravia seemed to kill the server

First of all: Thank you very much to make such a comeback possible! It is great to see that the yellows really watch what is going on and react to it (it is not everywhere like that)!
But I have to agree with Dax, Port Bavaria is really a better experience in the Assault mode (maybe it could be replaced by the other NS Titan map Bridge as I think that this is the better one).
Tampa would be nice too, but not that urgent imo.
Yeh agree, thanks alot guys, made 2142 kickass again. Now please people, lets try our best and see if we can get it to.... No wait, we will make it work this time. There is no other option!

think we shud mix the map rotation every couple of days then the start map doesnt become annoying.
Yeh, and it doesnt hurt to switch map to suez if it gets empty on Minsk or something, much easier to fill it up on suez.
