Love the COD's... i'm sure modern warfare 2 will be good :good2:

Keggs, you are missing out if u have never played a COD.

Try it from the very 1st one released for the PC in 2003 and an expansion for it

also in 2004 called Call of Duty: United Offensive.

At the time the graphics and game play were amazing and still worth a play m8.

Also very similar series, very similar game play and equally as good was the

Medal of Honor games, released at a similar time. Go get em !

in my mind cod2 was the best. cod1 was good too. the movement was very fast. that was really fun when playing mp.

they messed it up. the game lost its challenge character. games are arcade and in my mind have to stay arcade. the more a game created to reality the more it sucks. in my mind.

thats for bf too. its to slow. you cant strafe. you can sprint for only a short time.
the sens is a bit "soft".

cool game would be, the movement of ut/qII or cs in the very beginning (beta 7.2 e.g.), the aiming/mouse feeling of cod1/2 and the surrounding, plot of bf2142.

yeah, you are right. pretty cool and reeeeeeeaaaaally difficult.

in the beginning i tried as long as i could play the hardest level.

finally in the a.m. mentioned mission regret to do so.

damn, it was so fu*** hard. and in the end, when finishing this mission, i screamed as i won wimbledon or something comparable.

Btw sorry if I'm making you angry buuuuut I don't think activision has any part in the making this,therefore it can't be part of the call of duty series , and more bad news :( I checked xbox live, the games title is modern warfare 2 nothing else which gives a clue to it not being a cod game

good news .... In cod5 you had Nazi zombies welllll there was a leak from infinity ward and there may be alien terrorists (lol)

And more good news : you can finally put two attachments on guns. I.e you can now have a silencer and an agog/ red dot sight on your gun

Also (lol) a whole new amount of wepons.
Like... The AA12, the famas, and maybe ( my favorite) the styer AUG,mp7,m64,raging bull magnum rumers of the scar family and the XM8,l85a2

And three maps from cod4 will be in the game
Crossfire,bloc and another which has not yet been announced

single player is 7+ hours long

all the same multiplayer modes but there will be 4 new ones (still not known)

That won't be a standard option. To attach 2 modifications to a weapon instead of 1, you need to use a new perk called 'Bling'.

The single player campaign will be awesome, as it was in Modern Warfare 1. The multiplayer has some really nice additions but it will basically be exactly the same as it was in MW1. I thought it was ok while I was leveling up and unlocking new weapons, but it became too boring once I had no objectives left to do. It turned into a bland, simple frag-fest and none of the maps were big enough. The lack of a squad system really ruined it for me.

I'm a lot more interested in the multiplayer for Battlefield Bad Company 2 that should be released for PC in March 2010. It has all the awesome squad play, vehicles, gear, etc from BF2/BF2142 but it will be using the latest version of the Frostbite game engine.

I have only tested cod5 multiplayer and it was very dissapointing experience (i havent tested single player mode). Way too small maps, no team play, tanks are you kidding me... point capturing play mode was all about nades. But maybe they make changes to these in this next one.

Are the cod4 and cod5 multiplayer games similar ? I mean map size and other stuff ?
I dont mind about what time game is located as long as there is automatic weapons and not all weapons are some laser zappers :)

Single player FPS, well, i dont know what has happened, but i dont like them at all anymore. I think latest FPS which i played seriously was Doom, but also stopped playing that after around 10 hours and got back to BF world...

The multiplayer is similar, with perks and weapons/gear to unlock as you level up, but all the maps are different. The developers of CoD5 are different from the developers of CoD4 and they just used the same engine and gaming systems. CoD5 single player is ok but not nearly as good as CoD4.

If you can, try playing through the CoD4 single player because it really is awesome. Some of the highlights are getting to gun from an AC130 gunship to protect a convoy of friendly soldiers, and it has an amazing sniper mission.

I agree that the multiplayer in CoD4/5 was too bland but the single player was great and I expect the same from CoD6.

I presume the reason that there are no dedicated servers was because of the new host auto-switch feature that runs if the host gets too laggy or disconnects.

It makes things a bit harder to find reliable hosts but I'm not fussed about MW2 multiplayer so it doesn't bother me that much. As long as someone runs game in hardcore mode, I'll be happy.

I signed the petition, as game devopler has not given good answers about this issue and i cannot understand why both server browser cant be used.

IMO if you got a PC that can run Crysis and you're happy with that then you'll be fine.

DX9 is likely to be supported but who wants DX9 now? Windows 7 is DX11 ready and the nicey gfx are

with DX10 at the moment.

If you have anything above the Recommended System Requirements for Crysis then you should be relatively happy

(Unless MW2 supports DX11 !!!! arrgh )

i pre-ordered the game but cancelled due to the whole deiticated server/modding issues. basically any game i have played with an auto-match online game thing has been slow crap and basically useless. and not to mention the fact i like to play games with mods on them...

and yes the server host will be teh one who creates the game, so basically lower player numbers in a server and laggier gameplay, plus the host has a huge advantage because he will have 0 ping

Well guys, i'm defiantly buying MW2.

Today, i found on the official site, an fan incomplete list of weapons in MW2.

I always found it a shame, that almost no FPS, includes FN weapons. Yet that little Belgian Weapons company have the most numorous Machine guns in service and a long history of Assault rifles

anyway!

FN FAL ( i have been waiting so long for a game to have this kick-ass weapon)

I think that the lack of dedicated servers will actually be better for me. Let me explain, because I only play multiplayer games with friends (I hate joining games and just playing with randoms).

They have gone for a peer to peer hosting system party so that players can group up with friends and join the same games together more easily. I presume that they have set it up to work the same as it currently does for CoD4 on consoles.

I'm guessing the PC version will have a built in friends list which will act the same as a friends list on a console. We should be able to join a group of friends and then search for an available game type that we want to play (like on consoles). It will then find a game with enough free spaces and put everyone in the group on the same side. It will then fill the other side with enough random players or groups to balance the sides.

The only problem I can think of is lag, but my flat mate plays CoD4 a lot on his Xbox 360 and he has only had lag problems a couple of times. The main issue he had was when the match host disconnected or left the game which kicked everyone in the match back to the main menu. Luckily, IW have fixed that with the auto host switching system in MW2 so I can't see any problems.

yeah i agree with dax, no admins to kick/ban players that are botting (since VAC is COMPLETE CRAP) and they are now not able to implement for example no racism policies, aswell there is a post somewhere on a hacking forum saying that thanks to the copycat perk they can wipe your stats (hackers) if you happen to annoy them

edit: looks like they already have mw2 hacks coded... not sure whether or not to call bull**** though might be just saying they have them..

These security things never work.

I remeber some US banking spending 15 million Dollars on a new hack security program, that would prevent hacking, and also caught the hacker as it would hack the hacker itself.

4 days later a 15 year old kid completly hacked the system...

The best system is still admins/mods ingame. It has worked on all games i mod. Renegade, Reborn, Bf2142. It is STILL the best and most reliable system.

- in IW's own testing at america the ping has been around 100 to server which all games go through and this is located in america. Does anyone know will europe get their own "server" ?

Rackage, 4netplayers, i3dnl and other doesnt sell CoD6 Server yet, maybee after the release date... i dont know, i hope they will sell it in europe!!!

But if there is no dedicated servers, i think rackage and others cant sell them.
I not sure how exact info next is, it was translated from disscussion with two developers from IW which was held yesterday. But from that: all games go through IW.NET server and even LAN games and "host" has same ping as everyone else. IW developers also sais many times that net code is soo good that ping wont rise at long distances...

What kinds of pings did you get during your IWNet testing and what do you say is an acceptable ping?
Mackey-IW: I've been playing mainly with around 100ms ping and it was great.

Has IWnet been tested in European settings? My clan plays european leagues and we got ppl from Eastern europe, UK and Sweden meeting in the same match. How is this going to play out considering siginificant differences in Bandwith and connection qualities between players. Will host player always have the ping advantage. Can a match be hosted by 'third' person, not taking part in the match?

All of humanity on the previous game try to better themselves towards others, thus causing dispute, then conflict, then an epic flame war.
Thou hath made 10 Holy laws to prevent such conflict for the next instalment;

Commandment 1: Thou must not use any modded controller/console or any sort of cheating device, only the unskilled do so. Nor shall one boost in cage matches or any other match type ‘HURR HURR I HAZ RED CAMO AND ACOG SCOPEZ ON MA P90 BRITCHES HURR’ :-B

Commandment 2: (now that every console MUST be playing in game chat) Thou must not cuss or b1tch at others when talking online. Don’t get into meaningless fights over who’s better; it’s easier to be/make a friend than hate a person. Respect each other fairly.

Commandment 3: Thou must stop b1tching and flaming at people just because they are from another country. Do not instantly say ‘shut up britfag’ or ‘shut up americun.t’ ,and Americans stop saying the English can’t speak English, They invented the language -.-(can’t believe I hath heard that online) And the English stop calling America fat, they may be a bit over proportionate but err…erm…err...oh..err...just stop b1tching :/ Remember a wise man once said ‘Canada sucks’(the more you know)

Commandment 4: Thou shouldn’t say anything racially discriminating to others, saying the N word to each other over and over again… doesn’t make you pretty fly for a white guy.

Commandment 5: If a gun is found to be overpowered, Thou shall not always use it. Because then whiners strike and when whiners attack the whole community gets pissed off. I’m looking at you m16’rs ) :<

Commandment 6: Thou shall not complain if someone uses a ‘noob tactic’. If someone keeps camping, then don’t go near him, if you were in a real war would you run into 8 people each holding a gun wanting to kill you? If its noobish let them be a noob and quit the game and go to another, simples.

Commandment 7: If thou hath encountered a very annoying person or 12 year old, do the right thing and use the new mute feature, don’t flame him, they want you to scream at them, and don’t scream at the kid before his bedtime.

Commandment 8: Thou shall not glitch, if you glitch to get in some stupid spot or an area where you can’t die yet can kill other people (e.g. under the map) you are a skilless noob who should be sent to hell and be forced to play halo ODST for all of eternity.Glitching in a private match with friends is ok.

Commandment 9: Thou shall not play really loud crappy music nor sing to it. I SAID IT’S TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE!!!11!!!1 ITS TOO LATE!!!!! DX

Commandment 10: Thou shall not team kill, SO HELP ME God will come round to your house, drink all his Jack Daniels at your door, ram his way into your door with a baseball bat, slap your mom out of the way, get into your room and will beat the crap out of you. After he’s done ramming your head into your own ass, he’ll take a piss in your toilet, and leave the house without flushing…

waste of time getting it really. This is a VERY lazy producted game. As vg247.com (http://www.vg247.com/2009/11/05/cod4-vs-mw2-pc-feature-comparison-chart-makes-grim-reading/) have pointed out, the PC version is simply a waste of hard drive space.

Things the first game had that the sequel doesn’t: dedicated servers, sub-40ms ping, console commands, lean, custom maps, mod tools, recording features, and tons more. Save your cash!

Pre-Ordered the game a few days ago myself, 1st time I've been tempted it does look good and peer2peer connect ofc means dedicated servers like with COD4 and BF2142 are out but then its seem more aimed at lan or small group play, not at large scale maps and mass combat like BF2142

still horses for courses it still looks rather impressive as a game :D

Well Cod 4 had the FN P90

MW2 has got the FN SCAR, FN MAG, FN P90, FN FAL and FN F2000

FN herstal is one of the most important weapon manufacturers of the world, but barely any of their weapons are featured ingame.

We Belgians have some good weapons yah :V:

fn 2000 and steyr aug both have 5.56mm cartridges making them good for close combat but sucky on distances. i like an assault rifle with a bigger boom with .308 rounds :butcher:

The minimum system requirements for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 have been released:

The system requirements seem to be almost identical to Call of Duty 4, so if you are able to run that with decent frames, you should have no problem running MW2 on your PC. The recommended system requirements should be available soon.

As a side note, it seems that the game requires you to have an internet connection to activate the game. Hardly surprising, since MW2 has been partly integrated with Steam.

This game is awesome, absolutely awesome. The concerns about PC online issues are null, it's the best multiplayer experience I think I've ever had. Went from level 1 to level 13 in a couple of hours yesterday, will try and get up higher. From playing through single-player my favourite weapons will end up being the Tar-21 and F2000 (which they were anyway...) but at the moment I'm using the standard First Recon class.

got it today and got stuck with the single player mode. just wanted to try it out, to get a feeling for this game.. and now... 5 hours later i have to stop because i have to get up early tomorrow.

single player is fantastic. great story and very hard. i play veteran and have to say that there some points you really freak out, because its really tough to get through.

will try the multi player tomorrow.

Bought myself MW2

The single player is very good. Altough one mission was a bit difficult to play. I had a morale issue with it. I dint fired much that mission

The multiplayer is very good. It is far more tactical then COD4. No more the famous nade spam and such.

The weapon package is fantastic. The FN weapons are beasts :tongue2:
However, i find a lack of variety in the snipers.
And the Dual wielding of the MP5 and the P90 is OP and lame. It really doesnt fit into the game

The non dedicated servers thing is hampering though. Getting into a MP match issent easy, and i do miss a stock server

all in all, this game is very good. And alot of people whined for nothing(exept the dedicated server part)

I´ve heard some bad thing, but i´ve also heard good thing about the game.

My little brother bought the game, and he said that the MP ain´t that bad.

But those comments, especially those of the "guest users" are a possible anti-diffusion of innovations. To say it bluntly, I think, that Dice might be one of those behind the campaign of this anti-diffusion of innovation.

Don´t wanna seem all conspiracy minded, but a fact is, that there is a lot of flaming going against this game, because they changed the MP system from the previous ones, but if it is an unintended anti-diffusion of innovation, because of the majority of gamers actually have the same thought about this, I don´t know.

But if you think of it, it might just as well be Dice or some other gaming company that´s trying to rip customers away from Infinity Ward.

Yet... I will not buy this game.

But that uncut versions sounds intriguing :)

I think the uncut version mentioned is just the option to play through the Airport mission. Personally I have no problems with that level, seing as it's JUST A GAME!

I have found the multiplayer to be good over all, but also annoying. I like to snipe but even in Hardcore, I don't get a 1 shot kill unless I aim for the head. It's as though they have dumbed it down even more than in CoD4, and it forces me to use automatic weapons if I wan't to live for more than 1 minute.

One of the annoying things is not having all the gear unlocked, so I can't use things like claymores yet. This wouldn't be that bad, but the multiplayer frustrates me so much at times that I just quit and don't want to level up any more.

I also think that most of the maps are too small and don't allow enough players because they have all been ported over from the console version to save time. In CoD4 the console game had a lot less players per match than the PC version, but that was because the console games were a lot slower paced than PC. Now that IW have basically copied the console system for multiplayer over to PC, they just left us with the lower player amounts per match. Even the Ground War game type says it's for large battles, but I've never seen more than about 10 players per side.

Oh and another thing, that IWnet system can be really rubbish at times. It often finds a good map, fills the match, then just as it's about to start it kickes everyone out of the match lobby and changes the map. It also doesn't stop hackers! I played a game recently with 2 hackers. One of them was called MagicOnline who was using an aimbot, who often got 25 killstreaks and called in the nuclear strikes every time.

I guess I'll wait for BF Bad Company 2 for the better squad based/vehicle multiplayer games, with MUCH bigger maps!
