View Full Version : Windows 7
I know there's a few Vista haters out there, myself, i have never had a problem
with Vista 32 or Vista 64, little niggles perhaps but nothin that was not sorted relatively easy.
Windows 7 is a bit of a con imo, although i would say it is an improvement to Vista
but i would say that this move to windows 7 is nothing more than Windows ME was to
windows 98. :chat:
Its definately faster and some nice extra features. All my drivers which
existed for my laptop for vista were successfully used on windows 7, no issues at all.
If you are lookin to upgrade your OS to Vista, then wait for windows 7.
If you are a vista hater, then stay away as this looks sooo much like vista.
I've posted a screenie below, i tried to put a few key windows up.
Oh, this is where i noticed paint had also changed lolz.
I'll be waiting for the retail version of Windows 7, i will upgrade/fresh install when the time comes
but i would say there is no rush for those already with Vista 32/64 atm.
Thumbs up from me tho :good2:
There is one big advantage to Win7, which is one of the most criticised aspect on Vista: Win7 uses just the half of RAM than Vista !! In my opinion it's the better OS for laptops or netbooks.
Otherwise a very good review of the RC1 version. :)
Hornet, what do you think of the new taskbar with the locked programs on it? I don't like it......... :(
oh god, that looks so annoying :)

for me it wasnt the look or the little niggly probs it was the fact that it was really thrown out there before it should have been causing amazing issues for some of our customers one of who we had to downgrade all 60 pc's they got off us ( after setting them up on vista and updates done and av installed etc . . .) after they had spent the week trying to get their accounts package to work on it, even tho the package was vista comp.. made no difference it would not work with it end of story. im kinda looking forward to windows 7 as i reckon its probably the vista we should have got in the first place :) just me tho :)
Right ChaoZ, there were a lot of problems in the past and the needed RAM of Vista is not reasonable. In our company we tested Vista a long time and the result was: It's not an option for us to upgrade from XP to Vista.
At home I have no problems since the update to SP1 (I'm using a lot of different versions 32 and 64bit).
We all have a problem in the near future...... The XP support will end and I think Win7 would not be the ultimate OS all hope in the moment.....
No, i can't say i like the new task bar, lets see. ;)

looks good and if the driver and ram are good then its got to be better than Vista, I just hope it's not like Horn3t said a updated version of M E which looked good but was no substitute for Win if the can resolve driver issues and do not need to bring service packs out right away then great. XP is on it's last legs as far as sp's and you will only get security updates then nothing
gah im a vista hater just for the fact that it just eats my ram and cpu because there both fail :( but it looks a damn sight better than xp will ever look

wow, its so coo!!!
I had problmens with my Creative X-FI X-Treme Gamer Soundcard!!! But i solved it with :google:
Solution: Windows 7 cant find any Driver. DONT DO A FULLINSTALATION WITH THE DRIVER CD, CAUSE IT DOESNT WORK!!! Download the Driver apart and install all Driver parts apart!!! Then it will work!!!
lol i on the other hand am a xp hater !
1. found new device

i second that.
i pre-ordered 7 professional for my dad to erase his pre-installed vista on his new sony vaio. thatīs a great laptop but goddamn it is so slow.
slower than my 3 year old mac with half the ram.
hope 7 can do the job.
With Windows 7 Almost Out, Start Thinking Windows 8
Windows 7 launches next week. Microsoft hopes the new operating system will wash that bad taste of Vista out of the mouths of both customers and the enterprise. That means, of course, that it's time to start thinking about Windows 8.
Too soon, you say? The rumor mill has it that Redmond is already planning the next version of its desktop OS. The other week, the LinkedIn page for one Robert Morgan, a senior member of Microsoft's Research & Development team, stated his current projects including "128bit architecture

Some Info on 128bit here: http://www.timelessgaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7716&highlight=windows
Yes, i mentioned this a few days ago but it wont be until windows 9 / 10 i guess until we switch to 128.
While we've had 64 bit CPU for yeeeears now, its only really been 2008/2009 we've switched
to 64 bit OS's with the launch of Vista, so i would even 2nd guess even later than W10 as we will of all
got tooo comfy with W7 or even W8 64 bit. ;)
xp 64bits <3
I wont change os till microshit starts shipping something which isn't an downgrade, which isn't a big goldsprayed overbloated turd, which doesn't make life more complicated and annoying for the customers and which doesn't require twice the amount of ram compared to it's precursor. And if that never happens then i'll be heading to linux once they get a couple of cool games ported and then linux isnt userfriendly for a second! >.<
Windows 7 Is released today, 22nd Oct 2009 have fun ;)
