Ok folks - it started -> Battlefield 2 v1.50 BETA Patch is available for download not to play on the Beta servers ..

Features:

Additional support for Windows Vista.
Added Highway Tampa as a required map.
Added a new map called Operation Blue Pearl.

Gameplay Tweaks

Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced. Please note that the J10 is a superior dogfighter to the F35B and as such these two aircraft will never be equally matched.

AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective.

Added checks to prevent "runway grieving".

Various changes made to prevent cheating.

Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model.

well i was right then... (partially) as i read a similar post on a website, they said there would be released a Beta BF 2 1.50 and Beta bf2142 1.51 in the end of April..

Well will jsut have to wait for the BF 2142 patch:)

slightly off topic, whats the timeless thinking on beta's, will the server be put on the beta or stay on 1.5 till the full patch comes out. (I'm assuming it works something like this)

I think im going to test this at weekend.

Also found instructions to get both 1.41 and 1.5beta working together... but i dont have tested this yet.

Install BF2 v1.50 Beta 1:

* Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
* Install the update
* This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it was originally installed.

To go back to BF2 v1.41:

* Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
* Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
* Click START>RUN
* Type: regedit
* Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
* There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
* Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
* Run Battlefield 2 as normal

And now there will be the final version of the patch released on September 1st!
Both booster packs Armored Fury and European Forces will also be free to play with the new patch.

Es wird keinen Full-Installer geben. Aufgrund einer veränderten Patch-Philosophie würde eine Update von 1.0 auf 1.5 die Gesamtgröße des Spiels betragen. Um das zu umgehen hat man sich entschlossen, den Patch in einem inkrementellen Update ab Version 1.41 zu erstellen.

Bei Problemen nach dem Patch wird nochmal nach gebessert.

Der finale Patch läuft flüssiger als die Beta.

Ein Battlefield 2 No-DVD Patch ist integriert. Es werden keine zusätzlichen Dateien benötigt.

Die Treffer-Erfassung wurde eindeutig verbessert

Nach der Patch-Installation kann jeder der Battlefield 2 spielen kann auch die Booster-Pack Karten spielen.

The patch will be published in North America on September 1st at 9:00 o'clock (don't forget it's American time)
There will be no Full-Installer. An update from 1.0 to 1.5 would change the size of the game. The patch will be from 1.41 to 1.5.
There will also be dealt with problems after the patch (maybe more patches like 1.51).
The final patch runs more stable.
A Battlefield 2 No-DVD Patch is integrated. The won't be any other datas required.
The hitboxes have been fixed.
After the installation of the Patch you can play the Battlefield 2 booster pack maps.
