Microsoft Index searcher - more crap from Vista

Does anyone know how to actually turn this crap off? I've tried but it keeps coming back to haunt me,

Its the main reason why I am struggling to play games right now. It keeps pausing my USB mouse - so I cant move it - vital in games in BF2142.

Sometimes it can pause for a good 3-4 seconds. I've searched the web but cant really find anything useful to turn off this unessential piece of crap.

you shall find the indexing service in services, or you can rightclick on your harddrive click properties and then untick "Allow indexing service to index this disk for fast file searching"

i showed him that, its showing as disabled yet the process is still active

unistall silver light and if your running explorer 8 you might want to return to seven it gave me a headache so i uninstalled them or you could try options within the program
