So, i was wondering which would you use ? Or which setup is better ?
Im asking this because i have one 0,5GB memory which is not used. So i could add it to my computer which now has 1GB at 400mhz, but if i add third memory to my mother board the speed would drop to 333mhz... :pc2:
I'd go for the 1.5gb at 333 as there is more gain from the amount of ram.
Depends on the OS and programs u use tho, i presume this is an XP machine.
If you are selling this pc then i'd also go for the 1.5gb.

To say more about that we would need a bit more input - but lemme guess it´s a nf2 based board you use ? If so - go for the 3rd stick as more memory speeds the pc more than the ram speed drop costs you in overall performance ...
Basically overall speed is more cpu based than ram based, it all depends on thr FSB you CPU is running on. With certain chipsets / cpu combinations there are also Ramspeed limits (400/333) and so on.

I think i have LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb motherboard and XP (this i know for sure).
Thanks for your replies, i think i test that third memory stick.
I have now set processor/memory speed to 1:1 if i remember right. But with 333mhz this will be changed, but again i think i can push my prosessor faster (now prosessor is at 2200mhz, but i has been stable at around 2700 in the past).
In the link is "old" speed which we got with my friend Mika, when we tested the prosessor. But cannot remember the settings (it was beer filled night :haha3:) and friend is now moved elsewhere. And he was the pc wizard, i just wondered what are we doing.

I think i have seen that screen in the past when S754 was cooking hot and the AMD Turion 64 ML-40 was top notch on that socket. Normally it runs at 11x220MHz and is basically fast enought even with the Ram at 333MHz. Depends on the ram - but lower means also the opt for better timeings (2-2-2-5) and that gains also a bit. If it comes to games - every MB more ram counts and you´ll notice a speed up during map loading etc.
Best on that board would be 3 x 1GB, but even 1.5GB will improove your performance compared to the 1GB you have right now ...

Ok, i got now my 3x512b memory working.
It took me about 6 hours to get my mobo working with those... soooo many settings in there and i think lanparty isnt the easiest mobo to work with (well, it has nice overclocking settings, but those can be also disadvatage). With auto settings nothing worked, so had to test one by one different setups. Almost gave up trying them, but in the end its working now and tested it quicly in bf2142, seemed to a lot more smoother play now :good3:
My comp is quite unstable at the moment, but there is still settings to be tested...
