A little hardware news...
Very curious about this.

Amazing speeds from 4 MLC-equipped SSD drives (RAID 0) via a PCI-e 8x slot.
Transfer speeds up to 712 MB/s read and 500 MB/s write...
The piece of hardware that slows us down the most is the HDD, i can only welcome
an invention like this.... I'd love one of these me thinks :stars:

read the custom pc review on this not as good as said
the speeds were a lot lower
however the best one was the intel SSD
the OCZ (from memory cant find the mag) came last

No m8 these are not sata SSD drives, these are pci-e drives. There didn't seem much of an interest
in this thread so i did not post about the fusion IO drive which has been released since.
An amazing drive, these SSD/PCI-e drives really are the fastest in the world atm.
Lets hope they come down a lot in price and also that we'll be able to boot from em one day too !
On SSD drives i would go for the Intel SLC E-series drives but again, very expensive.

Well they're super fast storage m8, intended for industrial use.
Something like this would be a massive boost to speeds of any pc.
We need em bootable or a similar idea for a new interface which is much
faster than current sata interfaces. A much faster sata, perhaps.
I can see external SSD drives being very fast just now, lets hope faster than the new
usb standard, USB 3 which is 10 times faster than USB 2, 480/4800mbps respectively.
Just what we need. No more RAID 0 ;)

Well these guys are 3 times faster than my new SSD of 250mb/s read looool
AND these are bootable ! coool ;)
