High PING'S

I know there is no proof that high pings cause lag but it does ther is a chance that that player is also loseing packets as well and that can cause the sever to lag and even crash italso does'nt help that there are a great many "DIPPY'S" still fireing the AA guns at the titan's when the shields are down its daft and selfish of those players doing this on both sides and spoils the game for everyone, I know you sometimes might only have a quick shot at getting a gunship and you may hit the titan but not when the titan your shooting at is only 30 feet away that and high ping's put them together and we have a game crash. Lets say the titan were static and there were players with high pings the game would be still laggy so its either the server? or EA?? I wish someone would hold up there hand then it could be resolved :roll: :roll: :roll: :D

I've had many debates with Ashoof about this and also looked into why we get lag for all sorts of other reasons. I believe high pings do not cause the lag issues we're experiencing. High pings affect the player with high ping only. The AA spam and sentry's etc all over our titans defending cause a lot of lag. I know recently we been getting a lot of lag, i think this is down to network issues between Timeless and the service provider and also more recently that loveable guy... 'punkbuster' Ashoof said too that there are issues with the latest PB. Check your own connection/ping with Timeless and drop ur graphics settings to minimum and stop all background programs running before play to verify you have no personal issues. You will probably come back and say you done this and that you still get bad lag. Ashoof has probably the best most powerful rig out there and he puts a lot of effort into making sure we get the best gaming experience possible by doing a lot of tests etc. I really don't think he's a man who wants lag in his servers and don't think the issues are with Timeless but an external issue like PB or the network service provider etc. NB m8, like i say... Ashoof wants the best for you guys. ;)

I was not knocking Ashoof I have read the rig he's got "respect" you know but it has to be resolved the lag of late has been dredful for all players not just me, you have been on st the same time as me and it was not bad but a few games later myself and a few others had to call it a day it was bad, This is a great game and when all the new one's come out this will still be the game to play and I enjoy playing on Timeless and have done since I started playing 2142 and i will contiue to play on Timeless I think its one of the best servers going and for those do read this it also sharpens your skills for the ordinary servers out there who play at a lot slower rate lol!

I do agree with you m8, lag has been aweful lately but i think the issues are external. ;)

PINGS not but cat should know one player had a ping in the thousands yesterday but the game played ok strange really :rolleyes: :rolleyes: ;)

The server might still play alright but i imagine someone with a ping like that is nearly impossible to bloody hit! This is the main problem i have with high pingers really (people with a ping of 200+) - they tend to have a rather noticeable delay when shooting and being shot at, especially on a busy titan map!

i get a ping on avarage of 26 on the timeless NS server :) multilplay gamers dsl i love it :) anyone else use em?

We all use timeless here m8, quality of service is 2nd to none and if you're in UK you should ping at 10 to 40 which is cool. ;) Enjoy m8y
