After playing Bf 2142 for 2 months, i must say this has become my favorite game. i bought Bf 2142 2 years ago, but then my PC couldnt handle it.
So i recently went out with some friends to hire a movie, when i stumbled across the Bf 2142 deluxe Pack( wich includes Northren strike).
Is NS worth it?And do i keep my old stats + unlock??(since its a pack, i have to install the Bf2142 in the package, and i have to uninstall the Old Bf 2142 i currently have installed now)

hey i think NS is worth it, just dont buy the deluxe, i did and it didnt work so i used my old copy including the old booster pack
my recommendation is to just buy the northern strike booster pack, download it, install it (here comes the good old patchwork again, 1.4 then 1.5) and have fun.
I downloaded NS through EA link, and it was just a case of installing it on top of the original 2142. You keep yuor stats.
I would say if you like 2142 at all, get NS. The 3 maps are very good the extra stuff (which slips my mind just now) is pretty good too I think (ive been using it for so long cant remember what extra stuff you get).

yea well the thing is, the deluxe edition is nothing else than the booster pack and the game, but not in one like we had with BF 2 Deluxe
you still have to download it and install it , so save the money and buy the boosterpack straight.

I bought the bosster pack ages ago, but havnt got round to downloading it
(was going to do it today but didnt)
apart from the maps what else do you get??

a nuisance to say the least
a heavy armored vehicle used to drive around the whole map and try top cap points, its quite hard to get rid of, u have to destroy shield partitions first then the thing itself which is kinda hard cause it tends to repair itself, always carry 5 or 6 guys and about that amount more running around next to it
squadplay to get rid of it, a badge if u get it twice.
the speeder is kinda kewl, a hovering assault vehicle with an awesome shooting mode for both driver and gunner, gunners grenade launcher is the kewl thing and he also got rockets

Northern Strike is a great expansion to 2142 in my opinion, good maps and some nice additional unlocks which you can then carry with you to any map in 2142, this gives you advantage over the std 2142 players who will not have these unlocks. Bridge at Remagen is a classic, great map on 64 player Assault Lines and Titan. Timeless NS is a great server for your Northern Strike experience, great level of gaming.
A word on the installation if you have 2142 already installed, just install NS, then install patch 1.50 after it again. So patch 1.50 should be installed twice, once before and once again after the NS expansion pack. Enjoy

I bought it in a store. It only came with a code and i then downloaded it from internet.

lol personally i wouldnt even go near one of these things with rdx
i think if youre in it its kinda kewl but if youre not its a pain in the bum

It is a rdx thingy, place rdx on the 7 "pads" on the side, back and infront to blow it up, you get "strategic points" for doing so.
The Golitah regenerates armor, unless you put those pads out.
If you have the Golitah on your side and during the match you run out of ammo, just go to the back of the Golitah and its re-arming and healing you.
The front gun has an high power "shotgun" effect and motion mines (which you cant get rid of with the mine destruction grenade) which you can shoot away.
To trying to kill an Golitah with only Engineer is hard like hell as the Pilum dont do that much dmg on it (by itself).
Its usually a combination all together that does the trick.
Well thats about, oh and its slow like nothing else :lol:

i think the speeder is far better (pac) then goliath(EU), the goliath isn't realy that good iv taken down afew with the stationary cannon, c4, rocket launcher, plus, easy points for destroying its battery thingys on the side, only takes 1 c4 per module
what you get with ns aswell is a bunch of slightly useless unlocks (alot of them realy do suck), 3 fantastic maps (love port bavaria), 2 veicles, and soldiers have dif skins on ns maps, especialy pac, who's armor changes to white, atlast they have a lil camo

I bought Northern Strike soon after it was released. It is definitely worth buying. The maps are extremely fun, the Goliath and the Hachimoto Speeder are brilliant vehicles, and you get access to some of the best unlocks in the game, plus even quicker if you have a new Soldier.
And Nothern Strike does not change your current statistics by installing it.
Will take a while before everything is downloaded, gonna watch House MD untill it is done
Northeren strike is truly an nice expansion pack.The new maps feel cold and apocalistic.the Goliath and Speeder thing are very nice, and those new unlocks are pretty handy to
