View Full Version : Timeless Titan issues
Hey guys, i just thought i'd start a discussion on whats been going on at Timeless Titan these days. I think everyones noticed to immense lag and server crashes these days i was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what is causing these problems. One person i played with said that the server itself is unstable and can't handle the amount of people on it. Also, whenever i connect, PB comes up with a message saying that the server is running an old version of Punkbuster (and we all know how much problems PB causes.) Most of the bad lag starts during about 5:00-6:00 pm GMT and gets worse untill we have a server crash. Anyway, just wanted to hear your thoughts on this and see if theres anything us players can do to prevent/avoid the lag/crashes.

well server can do way more then 48 player as the server is good spec i heard thier is some issue with pb master server but let me know if the lag keep happning

I don't think thats likely since Ashoof seems to be determined to run the highest spec servers he can.
Ashoof should stick the server spec in the joining server message again. Seeing the server spec is encouraging.

The lag seems to have died down a bit but i'll check again tonight. Personally i still think PB could be a reason for the problems....that said i might be biased since i hate punkbuster :P
Seriously, keep PB old or take it off XD it's so annoying :( I don't think it's what causing the problem anyway... PB old version does nothing, which I find actually perfect -.- I got kicked by PB because of swearing(not insulting) in a whisper or in a squad with people i knew didn't mind swearing, and I even got banned for it on 1 or 2 servers, including Timeless Suez, which I think goes a bit far especially when I haven't seen any rules exposed about swearing on any Timeless server(might want to add a line about that? ;) ); and I've had other issues with Punkbuster

Well? I've read those. Adding a line about that was meaning on the server(when you're joining it). 95% of players won't bother checking rules on website, because they're usually pretty obvious; and(on most servers) given by server messages / when you join the server.
About Punkbuster and the rules, i don't see why one should get kicked / ban for talking in private, where nobody else can hear them(except admins, are the admins here sensitive to swear words?) to your friend who doesnn't mind it.
It's definitely an exceptional case, and I'd even accept to get kicked for that; just not banned.
Anyway I'm going off topic, sorry. Personally I'm having a nice time on Timeless servers without much lag, except inside titan when the nade spam is really really strong or people are constanly spamming AA. It might be the users' computers?

NO BAD LANGUAGE shows once every 4 or 5 minutes throughout all our servers i think
Check the banner and in game admin messages... no combat commander, no bad language, no titan AA spamming. Although the language filter is turned off but for 4 or so default words, admin will kick or even ban for bad language or abuse. If you are kicked for anything, you can simply rejoin the server. Incidently, it says nothing about racism to other players, i will ban without warning for this kind of abuse. We don't want the riff-raff in our servers so use your heads, don't spoil the fun ! ;)
