I'm running BF2142 with an NVidia 6600 but it's been causing problems on several games. The games occasionaly burst into jagged trangels which often radiate from a single point on the screen, i.e a symbol on the HUD. Anybody got any advice for a new graphics card which is relatively cheap?
This is usually down to either drivers or over-heated gfx card....
you generally get what you pay for m8y... spend what you can afford on one...
Any of these any good to you ?
I'm not sure what you'd like to pay but overclockers are fair priced. ;)

Thanks, yeah, they're about the price I was thinking of
Let us know what u decide to buy ;)
The best advice i can give you is throw that crappy 6 series out the window, then pee on it. Then go out and (if you have a lot of money) get the 8 series. If not buy anything in the 7 series. Nvidia made a big mess up with the 6 series and i've had countless problems with my 6600. When i got a new pc and loaded it with a 8800 GTS everything seems to run like a dream. But anything from the 7 series and upwards will solve almost every gfx problem you have with the 6 series. Hope this helps :)

7 series is a big bunch of crap. If u wanna buy last generation then X1900XT or X1950XT it blasts the 7 series away.

yeah the link i gave you was for a range of 1950 pro's... very good for the money
esp if your on a budget. ;)
I got 2x 1900xtx'x by the way and 1 of these do a good job.
I wouldn't even bother with a DX10 card now either unless you just gonna play DX9
games with em. I think £100 on a card is a decent bet... should last a good 6 months.
For a few extra £'s go for a card in same range but with more onboard memory too. ;)

Im also thinking to upgrade my old graphic card. Now i have 6800 all pipes opened. I have been watching also X1950 Pro, because i have an agp slot, so i dont have many different cards to choose from.
Is there big difference between 512 MB or 256 MB of memory in game (BF) use ?
They almost at the same prize, but i dont know when 512 are in stock of the shop. It has now moved in to the future 5 times, so im not sure how long there will be waiting if i buy 512 version... 256 are in stock...
There is bound to be a noticible difference, maybe there is a banchmark on the net to compare ? I guarantee it will be better with more mem tho.
I would def go for the 512 m8... wait a little for it to be in stock. ;)
