i just find it really interesting that this bloke who's ment to be a totally down to earth fella (forgive the pun), is talking about this, aspecially as he was quite high up in NASA.

Well this 'great filter' is covered largely in Drakes Equation.
I think any narrow minded person would say there is no other life to be honest.
No disrespect to others whom opinions are welcome. ;)
The universe or the potential of 'multiverses' says to me the odds are very much
against there not being a varied array of life from single cell life right through
to intelligent life the same as humans and even far beyond.
I do however think distance is a huge reason to not 'hearing' other intelligent life
forms already in our own galaxy.
If i remember right, the speed of light is 186272 miles per second (300000kmps)
or 670 million miles per hour and our own milky way is 100000 light years in length
and 30000 light years at its thickest part in the center, you would need to travel for 100000 years
at the speed of light (if it were possible) to span its length alone.
How many suns in our galaxy? how many galaxies in our universe? and
how many Earth-like planets could there be out there etc etc ?
And we (us at Timeless at the very least) really don't know the truth.
Maybe Ed Mitchel is telling the truth, maybe not but i'm sure he knows a little more
than we do about this.
I do believe that youtube (for EG) is a very good place to broadcast a conspiracy, a rumour
and even leak out the truth, just maybe there is also actual facts on there, i think
you just gotta look for it, judge it, read between the lines and make your own
guess on these things, as (as yet) the people in power ulitmately know more
than we ever will....... or do they?
