Need help,CD key lost

Hello,

Recently i moved house with the result losing the BF2142 box case that also contained the CDkey.I need to format my pc after continuously crashing problems.
Does anyone know how can i retrieve my CDkey back?

If you didn't format the pc there is a solution

Go to Run or (Εκτέλεση... if you have greek windows) and write regedit. Then at the left choose the folder local_machine - Software - Electronic Arts - EA GAMES -Battlefield 2142 - and there in one of the folder it should be show you at the right the cd-key

Did u registered ur Game on EA for Support ? U should do it everytime u buy a new Game, because the game ( and so the cd-key also ) is then registered to ur Name. When u lost the Key then u can ask EA ( by verifing ur Name and other registerdata ) to retrieve the same Key from them again. EA also can see the Key through ur Logindata on Masterserver, but if u had not registered it then its no Proof for them that u bought this Game.
Better register a Game on first install on HDD ( U got asked in BF while Game is installing) , beleave me its the best Way to be shure the CD-Key is registered to ur Name. If u maybe lost the Key, then u can ask for a new one through ur Registration.
I hope u registered it, otherwise i can only say same like the others : Buy a new

If you buy a game, buy it from the shops.... Or make sure you keep

details of your online reg etc..

Ok i found a way to find your key, so long as this info is still stored on your PC

(ie in the registry)

go to START>Run, then type in Regedit. (go to your registry)

Then go under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Electronic Arts>EA Games>Battlefield 2142>and click ergc

Then click the file on the right hand side (Default), right click it, and click modify.

Copy what is written here.

Your CD-Key is the 20 alpha numeric characters after this string : x9392

x9392 **** **** **** **** ****

If you quick format your pc, you can still find this info with a good HDD file

recovery program... so long as it has not been over-written.

In any case... this method of copying your key for future reference may be useful

should this happen again.

The above works up to the present 1.50 patch.

yeah .. if you use EA download manager it should install the game by itself introducing the cd-key too :) ... that if you have an EA account
