View Full Version : Error installing Northern Strike
Hey all this is my first post^^.. anyways, as the title says, i have a big problem installing NS.. i have bought the game through ea store today.. After having activated and associated the booster pack to my BF account i went for the installation process... however early during the setup i get the following feature transfer error:
Feature: ***IS_STRING_NOT_DEFINED**
Error: catastrophic error
!! anybody has some solutions that can help me? rly wanna try Ns out :S
try to uninstall 2142 and reinstall. If i dont remember wrong, when i bought ns it took a wile before it worked.
doesnt work :( just tried it.... do u remember having my same error?
sorry, dont remember. Try to call ea support, they may have the answer.
yea sent a question to customer service.. they'll probably answer tomorrow
Maybe you install BF2142 and then patch to v1.40
then install NS, maybe this works?
and then patch again to 1.40

I did like Opozzum wrote and all the problems went away. This you should try.
nah i tried uninstalling bf2142 and patching to 1.40.. the problem is that i get an error (Error: 87) during NS download with EA download manager. As a consequence when i try to install it i get the feature transfer error...so i cant install it at all :(
try to turn off your firewall, virusprog and not use router when you download. (you could not download it?)
oh god..this time i didnt get any error during the re-download of NS.. everything went smooth... i start the installation and at about 50% it gives me the same damn feature transfer error........this is annoying... the Customer Service doesnt seem to help much... they keep telling me to delete all the tempfiles which i did every time, redownload NS which i did like 20 times..... will i ever play NS? :(

no the problem is in the installation.. while i used to get also an error during the downloading, today everything went smooth but i still got the error in the setup....and before doing all this stuff i always closed all the unnecessary processes.. thx for the help anyways

why do you not post a complete copy of your conversation? Would be helpful for all of us then =)
all you have to do guys is to activate NS on the website using your valid cd-key .. and you dont have to download NS though EA DM you can install it manually ...
