View Full Version : Game stats and what matters

Ashoof and I were just having a creative discussion (an arguement essentially) about stats and whats important in 2142.
Personally, I play to win (Top Gun esq sounding cliche I know). But that means playing in a team and being as strategic as possible to try and win, irrespective of personal points.
2nd then is my score per minute, which I think is pretty much the most important metric in the game (barring winning a lot :) ).
Does everyone feel the same? or is it more kill/death ratio or knifing or team points or what?

I play only too win rounds.
yep i am a rusher i hate camping around and stuff like that, mostly my time i look in the right little window where you can see where the people at and where the fights are going.
when i start my game playing i switch often too the looser team too help out and turn around the game but after this (i think 4 mounth later)i saw you need for the warschool ribbon 2/1 after that i play mostly alone like a one men army too win maps.i like squad playing but it helps not too win a map i was on clan servers where all the clan members are in one time after i joined we win mostly the rounds it takes 6 rounds and they warn me and call me hacking because i killed mostly of the clan donkeys 20 rounds later i was banned lololol

it is funny too see that some of this clan donkeys are in the top 100 mostly of them are bad like old breed but this squad playing give them the points.

the good think about sqauds are 6 player at one place so you can knife them very good!:D

I don't pay a lot of mind to statistics as they tend to force you to play in a fixed way to retain your position in the ladder and I prefer the flexability to do as I wish.

I do at least consider the win / loss ratio to be important and I'm happy with being half way down the table as long as we win the round. There are certain thankless tasks that don't result in great points but are still important to the win; such as going engineer on Gilbralter or running half way across the map to kill a single guy on a flag rather than racking up ten kills staying in the zerg... I also quite like being in the squad with the most team points at the end of the round.

The problem with kill to death ratios is that you can easily hide away somewhere as a sniper, get a great ratio every round but lose every game because you contribute little by not taking and holding flags.

I play to win first then i play an easy as possible game because it suits my lifestyle.
With three young children to look after I am constantly having to meet their needs. Hence I tend to sit at titan consoles a lot etc.

I LUVVVV badges and medals and always have one in mind.
Mostly I play to enjoy myself so if i am having a bad day/game i generally bail and do something else for a while.

At the moment I am passionate about the admin thing hehe. IN NS and GIB maps I do REAL BAD cause i sit around waiting to be spawn killed or sit at the back of the EU map seeing who runs amok in the spawn areas.

ps Fantastico i think your ban is lifted btw

I think Kurko and myself play strategically very similarly, cause we end up at the same flag at the same time or in general doing the same things to win the game.

I play for the golden ticket at the end of the game when not in a squad.

But I prefer squadplay. My aim is to be on the winning side with the best squad.

Aye, situational awareness, one eye on the map at all times kinda stuff...

It was this kind of play that encouraged me come back to 'Timeless' in the first place, following my initial squading up with G-Zap many moons ago!

I know you guys love being in my squad when I am squadleader because I have the ability to get to flags and stay alive. As long as my faithful medics Olorian and Ashoof are there to revive me constantly and Muppethunter is there to kill all enemy in front, there is not much of a problem. Not forgetting Kurko the utility player (a bit like John O'Shea for Man U). Actually after playing for a couple of years with some of these guys we tend to work well as a squad without to much hassle for the squad leader unless Ashoof is looking for the beans.

We have a load of quality squad players on the conquest / northern strike server.

So here are the regulars of the moment that I can remember.

Ashoof, Olorian, Muppethunter, Kurkobot, Tillers, Faceless, Rozonus, Hamster, Skalper, C-Zap.

I know I have missed a few (sorry my memory is not so good)

I liked medals in the beginning. I have mostly just the command ones and the pilot ones left to get, so I probably won't bother.

I will be 92 at the current rate of play to get the gold pilot badge let alone the medal.

For me, like a lot of the others, the win is important. Before I started my time with timeless, my win ratio was less than 1 and its now a lot higher. Squadplay is the thing that really matters, as i realise when i'm stuck in a squad thanks to that bug, and i have to wonder around by myself and usually don't score anything. I think as long as the squad has the right balance of medic and recon, it can be a very hard thing to try and stop. Especially when we have the names already mentioned with both G and C Zap, ash, Olorian, Kurko, Skalp, Hamster, Roz occasionally and many more.

I really enjoy gunning in the transport and timeless airlines.... when the pilot doesn't crash blaming lag that is ;)
