Well i tried the latest version of Opera..

It seems loads better than it used to be, up until recently

it was firefox and IE and i think Firefox is obviously much better than IE

but i'm gonna go with the latest Opera, there are a few features i like.

Security and the speed dial are cool.

Latest version here.. http://www.opera.com/

Anything but IE :P

Opera & Firefox are both Excellent Browsers.

But i say Firefox wins, because it's open source and has many plugins due to this.

Firefox!
Opera's not bad, true but i prefer FF!

Jx3Aroo
07-08-2008, 17:31
You like the IE layout better because you haven't gave Firefox/Opera a good go, once you get used the Firefox/Opera there's no turning back. :)

I'm a web programmer and, after many years, I came out with my choice.

Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than ever before and works like a charm, it's incredibily efficent and you can add extensions that suit all your needs.

Safari was primarly designed for Mac systems, works well on Windows as well but do not offer nothing more than a good visual theme and a fast rendering engine.

Take a look to Firefox and his extensions here :

http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

42,5% of ppl use it! :)

IE and AOL can bite my shiny metal a***

FireFox is the best browser as far as i'm conceerned. fast, secure and with all the add-ons you could want

i'm quite interested in opera and google though

I do think this Google Chrome browser will give Firefox a run for it's money once it's out of BETA.

second to that hornet
i just switched to opera a few days ago... like it so far , speed dial is sweet :)

GUEST
04-09-2008, 11:55
Yeah i love speed dial.. i use a few skins too.

I've tried firefox in the past and its good. I compared firefox to opera and other

popular browsers and opera passed all official tests for security 100%

The only browser to do this atm.

I think Opera and Firefox are the best out there.

Kurim
05-09-2008, 03:17
n1 = FF2, FF3 has too much useless crap and runs slower for me, if I wanted this id be heading over to Opera again.

As for preferring the IE layout Firefox has a bunch of skins and customizations that makes IE look like cowdroppings.

edit: this is how my ff2 (&windows) looks like: screenie (http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/3294/ffie7.png), (simple <3)

well for reading post's and forums etc i use IE, for search for pic's etc i use Firefox or safari "which is poor at everything else" imo.

Firefox is my favourite browser because of the addons

but I think google chrome will be better after a few weeks because it's open source

Kurim
06-09-2008, 08:58
you mean open source? :p
well basicly chrome is a spinoff on firefox 3 and some other app with some other features i'm fine with ff2 as ff3 turned my computer into a google.crawler.bot then whats not the chance of google chrome turning me into another one?

maybe not the average joe cares bout it but whenever the **** on my computer starts contacting pages without i'm telling it to then it's nothing for me.

Kurim

im gonna develop a very useful plugin (for some people) to firefox which lets people simply download flash/movies from places like youtube, video.google, photobucket.video, tinypic and so on, will be very private tho and maybe only released in the admin parts since i dont want it to go completely public and have all the sites plugging up the holes.

kl just dont download the new beta im running it and its a b***h when you open a lot of tabs will crash everytime

CaptPlissken
05-04-2009, 08:20
I'm trying out Explorer 8 and its naturally rubbish. A nice feature is that it when (not if) it crashes, it actually restores your browser to the pages you were on. The problem there is , that the page it didnt like is also reloaded - meaning it crashes again!!!!!!!!!

I mean, great idea but the loons at MS didnt think of that did they?

i'm on the beta of safari 4, for both mac and PC, both very good, interesting feature in topsites (not sure if it was in old ones, never used it) only problem is it takes a while to set up and it randomly freezes for a few seconds every so often, loadsd pages really fast though

firefox is the best :yes2:

Deathtaker27
05-04-2009, 21:24
we all have our opinions on browsers

but here is a simple thing

every browser has good points and bad points

ie is very well intergrated with windows

firefox restores lost tabs

and there are advantages with the ones i havent tried

but all work

and all are good for uses

so to finish

choose your browser but do not ever say it is the best and nothing can beat it

beacuse if it was 99.9% of people would be using it and they are not

so choose one you like and customise it for yourself

but remember most important thing of all

your homepage must be http://www.timelessgaming.com/index.php?pageid=home

Switched to chrome recently, due to my use of a 10.1" screen on my netbook

Its minimalistic display just gives me more space to actually see the website im trying to look at. Where as firefox 3 uses up alot of space, and only see a very small amount of website

Firefox 4 beta looks like its fast becoming a winner though.

I use IE 8 (64 bit) and Google Chrome.. I still find Chrome to not be compatible with many websites, for instance I can´t zoom on many websites using ctrl+scroll and clicking on play and pause on videos. That annoys me a lot, because I must zoom out to the exact standard zoom out, which in most cases is too far out.

But chrome runs very smooth.. Seems to load websites a lot faster than other browser I´ve tried.

IE 8 is compatible with everything and works for me very nicely! I don´t have any extra programs running up there, so for me the browser size of IE8 is pretty much the same as the one of Chrome. That also helps the IE8 to run smoother.

especially the 64bit version, lots of things do not work...

chrome is meant to be fast (that was the point of it wasnt it?) but i wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole, if i wanted keystroke logging I will invest in a few dodgy downloads......
in my work we have notices everywhere never to use chrome because of security issues... if it can log you keystrokes without the correct privacy settings how easy would it be to 'trojan' in a little nasty......

Im mostly concerned about the compatability with css selectors and newer javascript functions than security. Sure lots of companies have the security in mind but i can hardly see any up-to-date browser being a security threat.

Bert
13-07-2010, 16:56
when they identify security threats for browsers.. a certain amount of people have to have had problems before they fix/update
when the security issue is written in to start with it just makes it easier. and lets face it there is really no other major security concern when it comes to browsers than it logging you credit card number when you buy something... lol

I got all that disabled berty boy ;) I would never allow google know any password or even Username... Well when thinking about it... It actually has me remembered on Timeless :P (but that´s the only one) I am on this website everyday, so hate to keep logging in with username and password.

But I don´t allow it to remember anything else for me.

(I don´t trust google, especially not after the Google information-collection scandal) Which google undermined heavily as a minor mistake in their systems..

wether its fixed or not or wether you can turn it off or not

its still there.... click on the wrong link or go onto the wrong Java page and its turned back on again.
true that that could happen with any browser but still, I just dont trust them so no chrome for me lol

IE8 sucks... badly

firefox rules... its faster(than IE), better looking, better gadgets, better add-ons... etc

Agree, Firefox is easily the 3rd most compatible browser, unfortunately not much changed with the FF4-beta. And if you're worried about security, just switch to unix imo...
