i thought we might share Movies Documantry Titels over hear
if this therad has no one intreast ill deleat it
I watched Transformers last night with a couple of beers.... I really didn't think it would be a good film, to be fair, it was decent, good special effects and its been left wide open for a part 2 at least.
I got my teeth into 'World at War' atm old program from Thames TV in great detail about WWII, Highly recommend this, its 11 DVD's long so get urself a little popcorn ! ;)
I would recommend Ray Mears, Survivorman and Man vs Wild for the outdoor enthusiast.
Man vs wild may be staged but is a good watch and a bit more exciting than the true to life ray mears and survivorman aka les stroud.
It's amazing what these people can do with little resources and i find this type of programme fascinating!
All are a definite must see.

Obviously I gather your not refering to normal blockbuster films in the cinema but out of those 300, The Departed and Blood Diamond really stand out.
But for the connoseour among you there is a film called " The Lives of Others"
(Das Leben der Anderen)If your not german you will need subtitles to watch it. It won best foreign film at the Oscars and comes highly recommended from C4. It is set in East Germany before the wall came down and centers around a Stasi investigation. The stasi were the east german secret police.
I found the drama to be highly entertaining, drawing you into the plot as it unfolds and leaves you with faith in humanity when it finishes.
Another great film is the Japanese film " Seven Samurai " from 1954 bloody great film and a must watch. I loved it and again a very entertaining film.
Top 10 films in no particular order with a one word review because i am lazy :
Its a wonderful life - http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=its+a+wonderful+life - Uplifting
Lost highway - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116922/ - Crazy
Breaking the waves - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115751/ - Emotional
2001: A Space Odyssey - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062622/ - Classic
The Shawshank Redemption - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/ - Uplifting 'again'
Natural Born Killers - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110632/ - Stylish
Citizen Kane - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033467/ - Groundbreaking
Memento - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/ - Clever
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067992/ - Magical
Irréversible - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290673/ - Disturbing
I am sure I missed a few classics.
To be continued>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well IMDB is a very good site for movie reviews, so i guess this would be accurate.

Pah Have kids. Stops you visiting the cinema for ever (unless yuour rich and have an au pair!)
last film I saw at the cinema was Lord of the Rings Part 3 lol
Nice thread though. My son is 6 and LOVES transformers. Is it OK for that age? It has a 12 age rating but if its only violence and mild suspense I think he can handle it. Too much swearing and its a no no. Speilberg though doesnt do swearing i think.
Yeah its cool. I cant remem any swearing m8 go watch it with him....
I Watched 28 Weeks later the other night, i don't know if i liked it or not thought.. it only seemed like it lasted 30 minutes. lol.
28 days later is as bad as the 1st one imo.... rubbish
Bourne Ultimatum, i watched last night.... Its always good seeing this guy in action, when he's on a roll that is. Its not as good as the first 2 films but its worth a watch.
Pity he dies at the end of this film..... lolz... only jokin hehe
Evan almighty... if u like a family tear jerker, you'll like this.. I thought it was funny and morgan freeman is then man. You'll enjoy it as a good family comedy. ;)
I watched a film called The Condemned last night, good action film, starring
'stone cold' steve austin and vinnie jones reminded me of a film called battle royale.
worth a look guys. ;)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443473/
Yea i saw that about a month ago H0RN3T, the only problem was is that it was predictable, soon as you found out it was a WWE film, you instantly know who was gonna win.
But yea it was an entertaining watch. ;)

Yeah i though the same but i wondered who would go 1st... the who would go next...
The ending is not quite what i expected tho, a little bit messy eh? lolz
Did anyone ever watch the films Battle Royale and Battle Royale II ??
Similar ideas in these films i think. ;)
Never seen Battle Royal, is it one of those subtitle films? because they don't speak english? :P
I'll have to check it out sometime.
I watched Disturbia last night too, was decent, but could have been a lot better. :)
Munich (very political but very interesting - plenty subs tho) and Knocked up.... very good film... recommend this if you're either expecting or if you already got kids but it is a good comedy for anyone. ;)
oh and i watched Teletubbies Dance a few times too many now but it keeps my little one very quiet...
eh oh!
Yeah, thought 'The Condemned' was a good watch. Nice action. I also liked 'The Marine' with John Cena. That is another WWE film but a little bit better.
David Lynch's 'ERASERHEAD' is ****ed up, you should watch that if you wanna be freaked out! lol
Other good ones are 'The Prestige', 'The Lives of Others', 'Memento' and 'Blue Velvet'.

The Big Lebowski, for anyone who hasn't seen this great movie and wants a good laugh! watch it with a few beers hehe.
For anyone interested in war, the documentary movie called Fire and Ice is great.
About the Soviet Union's invasion of Finland in 1939 (Winter War)

i know this isnt a movie but i like watching that, perhaps you like it too. Jericho

ehm sure i think so yes but i love it^^ and soon second part of the episodes in america appear =)
Sugar House is a good british film... about some toffee nose geezer who goes to London to buy a gun from some down and out junkie..... good film, i enjoyed it. ;)
http://www.sugarhousemovie.com/flash/#/
A night at the museum is a good family comedy, i dont think its a true story tho...
I waited til the end credits and it didn't say, so i dunno. ;)

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim..."
Damned money issue. It's allways about the money, is'nt it?
i mean, it would be like "If you do that, we want money for it" or something.
Anyone been watching the TV series "Heroes"
I got a few episodes and wondered if its worth watching b4 wasting my time ??
in germany here they start tomorrow or i dont know... btw lost starts second or third episode tomorrow =)
Yep - Watched the first series of Heroes.
It is good.
in germany here they start tomorrow or i dont know... btw lost starts second or third episode tomorrow =)
Forgive me m8 but Lost season 4 starts early next year January or February...
I've watched seasons 1, 2 and 3... been a long wait. ;)
In season 3 You will see a few unanswered questions answered and even more nagging questions unanswered too !! lolz ;)
hmm i know many things.. friends told me they saw english episodes (earlier than germans) so hmm not that secret as for someone who watched only season 1 and 2 =) and i think its 3 here ...
cool m8, well enjoy, i wont spoil it for you.

It's not a movie, but love The Sopranos...
IMO it's one of the very best tv shows ever made.
I have season1-6(part1) on boxset.
Watched it from the very beginning.
I don't watch them on tv, i wait for boxsets to go on sell then watch them all in a few nights, coz i've missed episodes in the past and it's a shiter when that happens lol
I just watched Hostel 2... not as good as the 1st one.
Without spoiling this film... i laughed the most i have ever laughed at a horror film
in one part of this film. lolz :)
Hostel 2 was more like a Comedy than a horror at times. :P
No doubt about that...
We're getting stuck into series 3 of prison break too, not a bad program
although it can be a bit predictable. ;)
I been watching series 1 of Jericho too... I'm waiting for something good to happen, i doubt i'll see the end of season one if it gets any duller....
lol? season one already finished here in germany =) but i have all episodes in english xD and i thnk i understood at least 80% =D but damn end... too many secrets still open..
Yeah its season 2 here too m8. I got all the latest season 2 episodes but i cant see me watching em. I'm watching season 1 from a 6 DVD box set. Yeah secrets... nagging questions... All sounds too much like 'Lost' I might quit watchin this sooner then lol.
One thing annoying about it is how low budget this program is, i really thought i'd be seeing some nice explosions and cities being levelled to the ground. Would of been nice to see some scenes similar to the film 'Independance Day' :)
last episoode from season one is cool =) when they are fighting and using the tank xD boom lol
last episoode from season one is cool =) when they are fighting and using the tank xD boom lol
So theres gonna be a tank and lots of fighting with it.
Thanks for that. A bit like telling me the score of a football match i have not seen yet.
wtf?? you said you already watched season 1 xD or at least i thought that because you said you were watching season 2... (why watching 2nd part without having watched the 1st)
ah sry of course there is no tank and no fight and nothing... they all live in peace and do nothing...
no sry for telling that =(
*read your post again and edit this post* AAAAAAAHHHHHHh you are WATCHING SEASON 1 BUT YOU HAAAAVE SEASON 2 .... SOOOOOOORRRRRYYYYYYY... but now you know its gonna have much action =D

I know it's a little bit OFF-topic, but i just had to say that i liked G-Zap's avatar with Batman running with a bomb in his hands. LOL, real funny. Anyway, As for TV shows, I like (and you might allready have guessed) Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Lols... who dont love her .... I would love to get beat up by her, i would even let her stick a stake in me lol ;)
I watched "Death Proof" If you like Tarrantino, you'll like this. I enjoyed it, the ending was not what i expected tho ! ;)
Just watched "Flood" what a load of pants.
30 Days of night.... what a load of drivvel... Me and Mrs watched this til the end, we had to see how these Vampires were beat....
2 out of 10 a generous rating.
Happy Feet ...What a great film. I watched it with my family, we enjoyed it.
9 out of 10
Nivens top 5:-)
Midnight Run
Planes Trains & Automobiles
Saving Private Ryan
Life of Brian
suicide kings
Oh sod it should have done a top 20 cause theres plenty more!!!
Life of Brian is really awesome lol =D
others never heard of them
Well as i got more time, as i'm away from the ever so addictive Timeless arcade..... "Black Snake Moan" is the 1st of 2 films i'm watchin with Lisa tonight....
It don't make the 8 out of 10 thread but i'd give it a good 7 out of 10.
Good film... You like Samuel L Jackson ? Watch it ! :43:
"Waitress" was our 2nd film tonight, a bit girlie for me but Lisa loved it, i would say it was similar to "knocked up" in some respects, so if you liked 'knocked up' you'll like waitress. 7 out of 10 for lisa and a good 6 for me.... ;)
Watched the new Halloween the 2007 one that was directed by Rob Zombie, the first one is so much better.. the new one spends way too much time going through what happened before he killed his parents, might be worth a watch for Halloween fans, but don't expect too much.

Catziggy i googled and i saw some things where they also said Star Wars Sexology... lol
I Am Legend... (Will Smith) its been highly rated here and there... I'd give it a 6 out of 10. He's the DJ, I'm the rapper. Yo Jeffreeeey....
Yep, I wasn't too impressed with I Am Legend, personally i thought it was overrated.
Reminded me of 28 days later too, similar theme.
I know this is very ooooold here =) BUT
few days ago the last episode of Lost was here on TV.. after the 2nd season they left the isle .. but that was soooo weird?! I always thought.. What drugs did the innovators take.. lol
So my question is, does anyone of you know if theres a 3rd season? I only wanna know IF THERE IS A 3RD SEASON XD Yes or No lol
Not telling me something IF there is one =)
LOST - Well we're waiting for EPISODE 3 of SEASON 4 now... Season 4
started 2-3 weeks ago after about 6 months wait following season 3.
Still lots of unanswered questions. Looks like you got a lot of catching up to do. ;)
Wtf season 4?
HEY BTW XD I guess everyone knows the main character there? Jack
HE GOT A GOLDEN TICKET LOLOLOLOLOLOL
All of them got golden tickets xD wtf I was laughing my *** off when they said that!
So he will crash again in his plane and all are on the isle again? But wtf all of them? or only him? And what happened to all of them whilst last episode of season 2? They were just calling this carrier and then?! Back at home lol.. that was confusing!

Recent dissapointment was Hellboy II, i think it is nothing like the first one...

- Alien 1 - 4
- Grand Torino
- Letters from Iwo Jima
The Expendables (2010) :link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320253/
Star studded, starring (of the most popular) : Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Wills and even Arnie was in this film.
Action packed, not too silly. I'd give it a 7.5 outta 10 :good3:
Kids film animation : Tangled 7.5/10 for me. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398286/
Great Disney animation, my lil girl loved it (still does) and i laughed at a couple of things. :good2:
Worth a watch esp if u have a young girl (which i do on 2 counts lolz)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyOyBVXDJ9Q
watched 'the social network' last night
quite an interesting film, is worth a watch
True Grit (2010) Remake of the old John Wayne classic http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403865/
7/10 from me, good film, good remake.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUiCu-zuAgM
I give 7/10 too for True Grit. Good but not spectacular in any way...
Jeff Bridges is the one thing that makes this movie good. Without him I'd most likely give this movie 5/10.
