well as you may have guessed i aint been on much due to the helpful LOL staff at virginmedia ...ok ok my bb is now 20meg with usuall 2.4mbs per sec but the feckin morons have forgot to inform us and that we need a new bb modem from them ...so i cant get on properly .access my emails etc ..in other words do feck all ...so im not happy :mad: :mad:
will see you all maybe sometime next week as engineer aint coming with new box until end of this week ...

ditto now my bandwidth is less than 3meg with 5kbps now ffs and just think that greedy fecker sold/ or is selling virginmedia so no doubt well be screwed over by some1 else now

BT is even worse, lol.
I know 3 people who are on BT and they all get about 5/6 disconnections a day plus slow speeds.

I was with telewest as well since virgin took over speeds are down and customer service is a joke hopefully some one decent will take over if its sold and things might get back to how it was
its like a yo yo atm my connection speeds are back to 20meg but virigin are saying that i shouldnt have 20meg lol ..... as the roll out plan doesnt cover my area .....:rolleyes:
but i have it again for now ..but still no email nor connection to virgins main site ..to complain ...gonna get some freebies outa them ..

I used to have Tiscali and they were total garbage!!! I constantly got disconnected when playing BF2142 and this got me really annoyed.
Since moving to BT i have only been disconnected twice in 5 1/2 month's, never from the game. Plus i get far greater speeds and much better customer service, after all everyone sub-contracts to BT so BT looks after it's own customers before helping out the rest of the market. This means you get a better service overall.
On most sites i have seen BT is up there near the top. Don't know where you got that site?
Well i think it's touch and go with ISP's, as long as your on a good server which is not too crowded then you'll be Ok :)

Virgin Media limits your upload and download speeds to 50% of what you pay for if you download around 1.5GB in a set time, and then keeps it at the 50% speeds for 4 hours. Just thought you should know :P
Personally I'll wait for ADSL2+ to arrive in my area and from my 8MB ADSL connection. I would rather wait for 24MB download speeds with no limits instead of getting 20MB now but being limited to half that every time I download a game demo thats over 1.5GB in size.

This is a coincidence, i was literally on the phone 2 mins ago about this same thing. A m8 of mine is getting terrible disconnections etc with Tiscali. He got 8 meg BB and he downloads a max of 450kb per sec which is 4meg... obviously the further from the exchange you are the less bandwidth etc but his concern is with disconnections. I'm with Virgin Media and i agree the service seems to of gone down hill a bit. I gave em a moan about loss of SKY NEWS and SKY SPORTS NEWS as i genuinely watched these more than anythin else.... these channels are now gone for me but i said i want some more BB off em and i'll be happy, they said no, we can give you more TV, i said, er, no i'm not happy, they said, gimme 2 mins i'll see what we can offer you, they came back and give me a permanent deduction of £8 from my bill, plus from 2 to 4 meg BB and an increase of my TV package, all for £8 less !! If you got probs with Virgin Media, just haggle with em, you may get somethin extra for nothin. ;)
