Game Keeps Freezing

Hi Folks,

I have never had a problem with 2142, but over the last few weeks every time I play my comp totally freezes! I have updated my graphics drivers, reinstalled 2142 and updated pb. The amount of time it takes for the freeze varies from 10 mins to a couple of hours. Please help its driving me nuts!!

Does it freeze during the game or when loading a map? Are you using XP or Vista?

The 1st thing i would do is run memtest m8, check your ram.

Are you getting other errors too, during normal use of windows and apps?

-Which system did you use Vist or XP ??

Sorry I didnt give more info last night it was late and I was getting p****d off with it freezing all the time!!

The games loads maps fine, its between 10 mins of game play and a few hours that the game just freezes and I cant even Ctl, Alt, Del out of the game.

I use XP with all the latest updates etc and no other program causes the failure ( I can play crysis for hours without any problems)

My sys specs are-

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Gigabyte DS3
4GB Corsair C6400 RAM
2 * Hitatchi Deskstar 500GB HDD
BFG 8800 GT OC2
Corsair HX620W

Very easy to solve that
Just go to your BF2142 directory, then make your PC show the hidden files and even show hidden system files (PC will warn you then, thats not safe) but just do that for a few seconds
A new file in your BF2142 directory will be shown and it is called "radial.cdb" just rename it or delete it and then run BF2142 =) this helped whenever I had this problem or any of the guys I helped lol =D
I think its no problem with your hardware... its just when this file gets to big, your game freezes (dont know why) but I guess your radial.cdb file is bigger than 1MB then, just watch that and do what I told you =)

EDIT: Yea this error can appear when you are already palying (freezing randomly whilst a round) OR when you are loading a map, you can watch the map loading screen for hours then =) because the walker is still walking but the bar does not go any farther

For the radial.cdb i create a automatic delete file that means when you start your desktop it will deletet every restart.

Somebody intrested write it here !!

How I said lol =P I read somewhere that it ALWAYS freezes, when it is more than 1MB.. I had one with 3,7MB lol =P

Deamon lol xD then you will never have this freeze-bug again =)

Thanks opozzum seems to have done the job!! (Played for a few hours the other day with no problems, will try longer on Monday)

Lol cool no problem =) If you got this freeze-bug again.. just delete the radial.cdb again.. and so on =)
But if you got other problems in BF2142 you can ask us too x)

BTW I recognized this radial.cdb does not have to be more than 1MB.. mine was at about 900KB and it already frozen my game.. so not exactly 1MB lol
