I was playing on Tampa at about 2030 and this dork called Turkdeniro kept spawning out of the sky from a pod..not transport etc...just bam..he was there...everytime I was spawning at a distant base point. What the hell is that? can someone explain what that is..surely it cant be right. If its not please get rid of that prck.
Edit: soz I did not take any pictures, was too busy cursing him and trying to kill his arse all the time before he got me. I shouted out a few times about him, but nothing. A few other saw it and helped out, thank god.
He has been banned.

What lol? He spawned in a pod from the sky? lol thats a beacon and you can spawn there as a pod from the sky ?! or was he podsurfing?

We watched the battle recorder. He placed a beacon at the entrance to the EU base.
Ah ok.. so from EU base to PAC base the podsurfing =( sad that this is still possible

We assumed he was from the discription made in the shout box.
He was in fact prolific in baserape

As Im new to this, sorry if there was confusion, but Ive never come across this before and thought that the way this was happening was down right not on. Just totally spoils the fun of the game..which in fact thats why I play...for fun.

To verify how a player can seem to spawn "from thin air" as you describe m8 lol.
There is a "Squad Leader Unlock" called a "Spawn Beacon"!
Once a Squad Leader places one down on the ground (they can be placed almost anywhere), he, or ANY member of his squad can then "Spawn on the Beacon (in a Pod)". They can however only be used by a Squad Leader if there is a "Minimum" of 3 players (including the Sqd Ldr) in the respective Squad!
That's precisely what they are for m8, to create a "Remote Spawn Point" for your squad to spawn at locations that would otherwise take a lot of time to get to.
Countering them isn't too hard, as you described the player "Spawns out of the sky in a Pod" LOL. You can either chose sit near the "Spawn Beacon" and wait for players Podding down onto it to land and then waste them, or more effectively, simply find the Beacon, and destroy it (any firearm will take one out) :)!

Do you mean to camp at beacon? I think thats not allowed on Timeless =) so watch out
Yes they can be placed EVERYWHERE but you cannot spawn there when they are placed in buildings with no way to the sky (so the beacon has to be placed outdoors)

Thanks for the explanation, but aint that just another way of killing anyone who spawns there, like me? Not fair play that aint. You cant go anywhere else if they constantly pod in. Not making the game fun to play..but a fkin chore.

I dont know what you mean, but it is not allowed on any Timeless Servers to spawncamp or baserape and I think to spawncamp at the beacon does count too as that rule =) so if you see a beacon, take your pistol and shoot it once, if you can see the "green beacon" symbol then stop shooting (that means its your teams beacon) if it does not show anything, go on shooting and destroy the beacon =) dont camp there and wait for enemies to kill/knife them.. thats unfair and they didnt expect to get spawncamped there then.. I know you dont have to spawn there BUT did you know there were some guys camping? No you couldnt know that =)
Just do as I told you.. or not? lol and you will be fine =)
If beaconcamping is allowed on the servers.. just ignore this post and go on playing as you did before lol!!!
you can setup a tent next to the beacon and camp until they stop falling from the sky.

I agree. Beacons are not a clean entry.
Use them at peril.
Beacon camping is ok. Dont be proud of it. War is ugly.

So, to be clear on this..its OK for team A to pod constantly into a beacon that they have set up on a known spawn point for team B, so they can continually wipe out spawning team B soldiers? Something seriously amiss there surely.

Yer, but my point is isnt this another form of baserape? I mean they can continually send in their side to keep wiping out our spawning troops? Particularly the spawning point in Tampa right at the top of the map for PAC, where its not defended whatsoever. So its basically a lone soldier thats just spawned, against a number of podded opposition. Obviously there is just no competition there and you are back to square one. Spawn in..bang, fookin dead again. Ad nauseum. Bad News. This is certainly a **** loophole in my opinion that should be plugged.

Yea but on Camp Gibraltar, they have a choice to spawn another place too.. but they dont, they get spawnkilled and the killers get a ban lol =D
You can spawn at 2 points on Gibraltar.. (I never spawned at the back spot, did I?) Cuz you have to walk farther and .. only for vehicles I think? But there you wouldnt get spawnkilled then..
