can u share an internet connection via 2 seperate network types? i.e wireless and wired,
the main problem is the ds is saying , "unable to obtain i.p address", it see's my wireless network,

Well I run both a wired and wireless network but they are both run from my router which also connects automatically to the internet. The PC is wired in and all the laptops have integrated wireless, most of the neighbourhood used to connect to my internet until I realised and secured it.
Switches are great for connecting large amounts of wired PC's but if they don't connect into a router they are useless for connecting them all to the internet.
Without a router you can't have ip's assigned and therefore can't connect multiple pc's to the net.
Nowadays you can get a router with 4 wired pc slots, two aerials for better wireless signal strength with up to 108mb/s wireless connectivity, usually they come with integrated modem and dsl telephony. So that you can have 4 pc's hard wired in and possbile hundreds more connected wirelessly or though switches both by a network and to the net.

Oh is a ds lite some sort of console, you can't connect that to the internet unless you have a router that automatically connects to the internet lol
You probably have a modem and the pc dials up the internet connection via software or windows with possible a username and password, a console can't do that.
Whatever I connect to my router be it pc or console wireless or not, it's automatically on the net but the router is always online and it has the username and password stuff so it can connect automatically after I reset it or turn back on the power.

Right, to connect your DS to a wireless network you need to wither get a Router or one of the USB Nintendo gizmo's, personally I'd go for the USB device, the, just conntect it up to the computer where the network is connnected to and you should be ready to go!
