Yea I think you have more than the 2 standard buttons just set up some for your weapons, e.g. the buttons on the sides for reviving tool and grenades =) Or as C-ZAP said for the knife or for screenshots and and and so many things you can do with those buttons and what you like best, just choose that then =)
Hope this helped a bit.. and I hope this was the things you needed ?! Since I thought you meant something else =)

I think you can even change the mouse sensitivity whilst ingame with your mouse .. there are some buttons which will do that =) and thats very useful when you are in the Rorsch (then high sensitivity) and when youre infantry (then low) =)

Ehm is that your result of that speedtest in your sig? Your upload is higher than my download lol ... ah no its just a bit less than my download =P

i have logitech g5 and you can change sensitivity ingame. there are two small buttons just below scroll wheel so i can change to 3 set modes.

I have two extra buttons but have only set up 1 so far. will have to think of another good one. lol

Venom,

If this helps you out???

Generally 800Dpi (ish) is where you'll want it set for "general gaming", then you also have the buttons on the mouse above and below the wheel to switch the Dpi on the fly in game.

In BF2, the Dpi is actually more relevant, when you zoom in with a Sniper Scope for example (as you 'll know, once you zoom in, you have to move the mouse a far greater distance to move the cursor over the same distance than if you were zoomed out), that's where switching the Dpi on the fly obviously comes in. 1100-1200Dpi is good in BF2 when zoomed in with a Sniper Scope just as a rough example, but it goes without saying, everyone has different personal preferences etc.

In 2142 it all becomes less of an issue ultimately, as even when you zoom in using the Sniper Scope again as an example, you only need to move your mouse the same distance to match the cursor movement as when you are zoomed out (if that makes any sense LOL, AAAAGGGHH, I've confused myself hehe).

Personally, in 2142 I use 2 just 2 Dpi presets (whereas in BF2 I use 4) as an example for you. I keep 800Dpi for overall general gaming, obviously not forgetting first adjusting the sensitivity of your mouse in the actual game options for each specific class as to whether you are Infantry, in a vehicle, or an aircraft.

Using that example 800 Dpi, set up your sensitivity options for each individual class to suit your preferences. Then if you so desire, add in other Dpi presets after that. My personal second preset is set to 700Dpi for when I go on a Knife or Pistol rampage, (I find it a little easier to slow my movements down to stab or side-arm someone to death lol, some prefer to speed them up no doubt hehe).

As for the extra available Thumb buttons etc, the Mini-Map is an absolutely invaluable tool in both BF2 and BF2142 in my book :). I have one of the thumb buttons set to toggle through the three different "Map Zooms", my second thumb button is set to "Jump" (Spacebar = crouch). I wish I had 3 Thumb buttons on my mouse lol, cos a third one would be set to "draw knife" hehe ;)! As it is, the Map and jumping are a greater priority to suit my preferences, that's all lol!

It truly is down to personal preference though m8, play around over time and with practise you'll fine tune it to your method of play :)!!

Good luck, Wolfster.

Hehehe,

I had a "Raptor M2 Gaming Mouse", that had cool little different graded weights you could swap out to suit. Very nice Mouse, didn't suit me too well though, they're quite small and used to cause my hands to cramp rofl!!

Swapped that one for a Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse, much better :)!!

Mitchell, what are the "specifics" of your Mouse?? ie, Manufacturer, Model, and Driver version installed if you can get that information m8? might then be able to provide some more specific advise for you to sort it out :)!!

Good luck, Wolf :)!!
