View Full Version : MY PSU SERVED ME WELL... but....
After all the abuse i have given my PSU it has decided to die on me this morning... So i can't play BF2142 until i get a new PSU.... I got loadz of spare PSU's but none that'll handle my machine...i've ordered a new one today and will catch u guys on the BF hopefully tomoz (Wed) sometime !! My fuse kept blowing this morning and after replacing the mains AND the blown internal PSU fuse, they just kept popping ! I can't see anythin obviously wrong with my MOBO, dead PSU or components plugged into my mobo.... any ideas before i commit myself to turning my PC on after installation of a new PSU tomoz would be appreciated... thanks guys. ;) Catch u all tomoz, i will be able to reply to this post on my Mrs lappy.. I need a drink... cheers. :)

IMHO this is a very nice PSU, u get wot u see in the jonnyguru review... This PSU should last until my next upgrade which i'm sure to need a new PSU for. ATM its running a dual core CPU, 3x Raptor sata HDDs, 2xRW's, 2x1GB RAM and 2x 1900xtx Graphics, 2x LCD controllers, other pci cards, loadza USB devices inc Razer mouse and Saitek 2 K/B, 4x80mm fans and 1x120mm fan. Seems stable as u like without running verbose tests, all looks great. I think my old psu was at its limit and think a component in the psu died causing the fusing.
The corsair PSU fan is quieter than i thought it would be and all the modular leads are very compact, helping air flow. Anyone after a similar PSU? I highly reccommend this one. :)

Yeah thats a powerful PSU. by the time i want a new one i'll prob have to have somethin like that or the Enermax 1k. i think theres a new ATX standard on the way which i'll prob have to consider too. New Gfx cards using 8 pin power plugs too which i believe u can convert 6 pin PCI-e to 8 pin. Glad i got 2 modular PCI-e 6 pin power points on this new PSU. ;)
