This is something I have been meaning to ask, I'll do some research on the net.

Talking about the nvidia drivers, for the last few months I have been using the beta 93.81 drivers in my quest to find a driver that cause the least problems, although I have heard that the earlier nvidia drivers cause the least problems. Like CTD etc, anyone know if there is any truth in this.

If ur refering to CTD's from BF214 then imo the 1.25 patch did wonders for me but i'm using ATI drivers and obviously a completely different PC, diff HW etc. I would doubt that earlier drivers would help tbh but u can never tell what hardware/driver conflicts u gonna get with new drivers. Horses for courses i've always believed. All u can do is make small step by step changes to a pc/game config ie.. a driver, update DX, new game patch and other ideas to make things work. IMO the latest drivers, DX and game patches on a clean install works well but if u got issues with a system u dont wanna clean install OS then u gotta take it one step at a time. ;)

I have found all the recent Nvidia drivers to be very unstable. I'm currently using a 99.9x version I think, which gives me the fewest problems. I upgraded to the 158 version and all hell broke loose.

I have an nForce 680i mobo and a GeForce 8800GTX, so I use nTune to control them both. With my current drivers, nTune is a bit buggy but it does most of the things I want it to. With the 158 drivers, nTune buggered up and wouldn't let me do simple things like manually control the fan speed on the graphics card heatsink.

I have a list of reasons why I hate nTune, but hopefully in the next big driver release they'll actually make some improvements.

Edit: Heh, Ashoof posted just before me. I'll check out those new Nvidia drivers and see how it goes.
