running two xfx5870 in crossfire mode and still cant get a decent 60fps, on a i7 920

hi guys,

need crossfire setup help, i cant get more than 60fps especially on the metro map, but if i am playing other maps i am getting a bit higher in 125fps when the load on the servers is less aka less players i am guessing that no. of players should not be a problem. ?

i dl the GPUZ program and i can see one card is in 16bit and the other card is 8bit ? both cards are identical why is that showing like this. do i need to tweak any settings.

Also when i play bf3 i asks me to update the amd radeon to 11.7 from 11.6 but i am running the catalyst 11.12 - ? i have read that i need to use sweeper to clean and reinstall this...will do so just incase if u have other methods let me know.

i had the same prob with my crossfired 577s a wile back.

i ended up doing a clean install of the ati cc and drivers IE

uninstall amd cc and drivers > restart then re install the lateist drivers ( still 11.12 i think ) from the ati support center > restart .

also turning of win defender and firewall/ AV progs helped

but the above was on win 7 64

but tbh i'm getting 50/60 fps on one card as i donated the other to ravenette as she only had a 4xxx and it was pants on the fps

i seem to recall somewhere that if you crossfire or sli cards together they dont both run at there full potental anyways ( i could be wrong here) something to do with the slot speeds IE one at x16 the second at x4 :dunno:

did u use the driver sweeper after the uninstall or just like that, coz i kept getting the inf. file not found error on installed the catalyst........

The x16 amd the x8 is the the cabeblity of the motherbord uaerc some motherbord can have 4 pci slot that x16

also remeber you will always have more fps with empty server V full server

Hi Ash my mobo is the same like your older one rampage ii extereme, it has 3 pci e slots x16 but i was searching the web and found some pictures which i showed to raven also and it seems that my crossfire cable is conneted to the wrong side since that are two gold fingers the pictures shows installing in the two aaway from the back plate. will try that tonight when i get hom,

in the meantime my latest problem is the older pc which is now installed somehow and getting "" You were disconnected from EA Online (1) "" are you on etisalat or DU coz my Du connection at home works fine, but this etisalat one is not connecting ............

so if you can share etisalat setting that would be greats....

Here is screen shots from the gpuz after updating all drivers and reinstalling the entire setup i changed the crossfire cable on the gpus aswell.........screen shots. you will see the 2nd card is for 16bit and running at 8bit cant understand that it is effecting the overall performance as you will see from the scr.shots...... any suggestions on setting these straight will help.
