Ever sat there and watched that progress bat get to 60% and then stop with little walker chap punding away in space for ever?
Ever reinstalled the whole of BF2142, boosters and all the patches?
Heres a one click solution.
Background. When BF2142 started first time it creates a file of all the map data it can access afterwards so that it doesnt keep having to load the huge amounts of data each time. Its unique to everyone of course because it will contain details about your graphic settings etc.
Like all EA does this file gets corrupted and cannot be loaded so thats where the 60% stick comes in. What you need to do is find this file, rename it so that BF2142 is forced to ignore it and reload a new version.
The file is called radial.cdb and you will find it in the main Battlefield 2142 folder in the Electronic ARts folder in the Program Files area on your pc.
You need to use TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW feature and find the checkbox marked "Hide protected operating system files" Uncheck it and ignore the warning
