Occupy Battlelog.
They keep deleting the threads and posts about it.. But then again.. The mods are the hackers.
Its kinda like corrupt police. They hold the law so that they can break the law.

Now the hacker/ex-mod created a thread, which has of course been locked now.. Haha! Get the popcorn out!
Interesting to see that, as they've just announced to take tightened actions agains hackers
Battlefield 3 anti-cheat measures intensify
In our continued effort to minimize cheating in Battlefield 3, we recently banned another batch of several hundred confirmed cheaters.
[...] At DICE, we will never tolerate cheaters.
[...] We have always taken cheating seriously. Starting today, we will further intensify our efforts to hunt down and rid Battlefield 3 of cheaters. Stats wiping and banning this disruptive minority is the only way they will understand that they are ruining the game for others. We do this for the millions of dedicated players out there who deserve a fair game, every game.
[...] our analysts here at DICE [...] take appropriate action, including stats wiping and/or banning players who are confirmed as cheating.
Reducing the number of cheaters is an ongoing endeavor, and one that we will never stop.

I'm really curious on EA's official statement!
For those who are as clueless as I was when I first read this thread, there is some summary with screenshots of the "important" things (which have been deleted by EA):
A user by the name of MrPropper777 (http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/MrPropper777/) (screenshot) (http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/7259/namenshame.png) is a moderator on the Battlelog forums - the central hub for all things BF3. There is just one problem, he is a hacker.
Battlefleid 3 player, DeepFloyd, created a thread on Battlelog (screenshot) (http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6871/omfggoodjobea.png) forums to inform everybody of his findings. He claims to have seen him use the instant kill hack in person. The thread received 180 posts in less than 2 hours. It was removed by moderators and the hacker was stripped of his moderator tags.
According to two streaming websites he has breached the rules and has been detected by punkbuster for possessing a cheat violation. “VIOLATION (GAMEHACK) 80704”
This record at pbbans has his hack detected back in November (http://www.pbbans.com/mbi-viewban-192438eb-vb239869.html)
This record at ggc-stream confirms this hack detection on the same day (http://www.ggc-stream.com/search/server/guid/gid/12b17e66055a6cfec8021c5f192438eb)
The pbbans link will also take you directly back to the profile of the same person on Battlelog. The ggc-stream lists his aliases as “Problem_USER.” A youtube link on his Battlelog profile has him using the same alias. So it seems pretty certain that they are indeed the same person. The only remaining doubt would be if punkbuster produced a false positive or if the GUID was falsified.
How did this hacker get to be a moderator on the battlelog forums? It appears he has been caught for hacking on streaming servers and from eyewitness accounts he is a hacker. His current profile has his location in the United States, yet many of the servers he has played on recently are from Russia or Europe.
A moderator Abrahammer responded to the thread before it was deleted:
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I can assure you we are reviewing this case. Props to the community for bringing this to our attention. Thank you for your continued support and patience. I understand your frustration, and I believe these words are not the response you desire, but they represent the beginning of our investigation.
MrPropper777 also responded by making his own thread...

Update: MrPropper777 lost his moderator tag and the thread has been removed. Moderators continue to delete all threads that reference this issue.

Update: His stats are reset.
He is russian.
He speaks russian.
He is/was in a russian clan.
On PBbans, he is russian.
Every IP he has had, was russian.
Ergo. He's Russian. :)
He was caught on his own clan server. Dumbass probably thought he could just remove the ban if it was his own server.
There is one thing about him though, he is not globally banned by Even Balance.

seriously what sort of quality controls are there on moderators??
I find it frankly ridiculous that they could give this guy moderator rights in the first place.
what I would like to know though is how they are getting away with removing and locking threads discussing this issue.
as a community (whole if bf3) we have a right to know what lead to this cockup, why it took so long for them to investigate, and why they are refusing to discuss the issue with us.

it's EA, we have no rights... lol!
I'm not really seeing the issue here.
People cheat it happens, they cannot continuously control their VOLUNTEER moderators, to the extent that it becomes impossible to stop them cheating.
The best that EA can do, is to remove the person in question when they get caught.
That is what they have done.
Naming and shaming is against the forum rules, period, moderators actually remove hundreds of threads in which people name hackers.
I really don't see what EA is doing wrong.
ok thats a given
but I have seen plenty of comments about thread deletion, people getting forum bans and just locking threads.
all from people asking for a official response. but without 'naming and shaming'
lets face it Dax if you or I did that face would soon take away our rights
plus we would always respond to the question even if it was a polite shut the **** up or piss take.
but I went through the forums this morning and there isnt anything but the odd comment that 'moderating is hard' and we cant comment...
not good enough
What do you want EA to do, this is my question.
Point to a specific thing that EA could do to better handle this situation.
Do you want them to keep him as a moderator??
Do you want them to give every single person a refund because they let a hacker edit someones post when they didnt know he was a hacker??
Do you want them to jump up and down, and laser onto the moon that fact that one of their mods did this?
I really don't see the issue, one of the old pbbans staff bought a hack one day? We still use pbbans? They removed his powers and don't talk about it on their forums...
Yes its not ideal, and yes in an ideal world it never would have happened, but it did, and its over with, its been taken care of and its time for it to move out of memory.
If Bert buys a hack, lets all change the banner at the top of timeless to let everyone know it happened, deal?
No, we will remove berts admin rights, and get on with our lives as normal.
"point to a specific thing"... when the entire forum is in asking about it..
1/ make a formal statement..
2/ actually appear to have a grasp on the situation
3/ tell the members that this was unavoidable and future mod will be 'vetted' before getting there rights
4/ mention that all forum actions by that mod will be looked at and if found to be in question dealt with.
we have not had this here but we have had other awkward situations
if memory servers the last one you made a thread, and ash has made them in the past too
what we didnt do was remove or lock every thread asking whats going on and ban the member asking.
no admittedly I havent looked overthere for a few days so they may well have done this.
but a simle locked thread saying we have been made aware of the situation and it has been dealt with would have sufficed. then lock all the threads they like.
as you say "if I bought a hack" or abused by admin rights it would be dealt with and a thread made.
remember the last time? H made the admin in question make a thread and it was explained why.
all im saying is why cant they be open and proactive about the sutuation instead of appearing to be trying to lie and ignore ligitimate community concerns.
people in the BF3 community are very concerned by the recent effect hacking is having on the game. when its happening so close to home it makes that anxiety worse.

Putting your hands up and admitting the issue and then explaining what you've done to prevent it in the future makes a lot more sense than locking and deleting threads when anyone asks about it. Voluntary mods they may be but you'd think they'd have a basic grasp of community relations/relationship management.
