cmon lets start asking hackers why they hack and what the point is !
instead of asking players to join a clan lets just ask them and see what answers we get!!
BF3 is a great game and i really dont understand what the point is in hacking....
happy new year btw :)
they can pwn!
i think its the only reason. i cant understand, not a bit, why one would like to cheat in a game like that, but here they are.
i gladly cheat in my long sessions of strategy games, or what ever single player game there is, but in multiplayer games... i just dont get it... you play with other people to compete, or?
meh, **** them!

Yes, tell us Faceless!
:punish: ya should ask jiddohax
I solely believe they hack only to feel "powerful" or respected in someway.
That, or they just have absolutely no sex life

I don't understand how they don't get bored.
that's what i wonder.
its only a matter of time before they get caught and get a solid ban, EA don't seem to doing a whole lot about or unable to stop it so i guess its up to the server admins.
my shooting of the enemy is so bad atm the only way i can get my kills is laying claymores down ;)
well EA dont realy care what they do is make the game and make an update time to time to fixx bugs and try to fixx some glitches thats it just look on punkbuster sure it helps some cases but not all of them and people can still turn them of from there servers all they wont is to make money and then leave the hacker problems to the server owners like how many times have not server files been leaked and not taken care for the problem

I think for most hackers it's just because they can - they like breaking rules just for the sake of it - they're anti-authoritarian rebels - it amuses them and they want to see if they can get away with it, and they enjoy the challenge of trying to beat a relatively closed system.
I used to know someone who hacked - he reckoned he was a grey-hat/white-hat hacker because he only went after websites that pedophiles used and he also went after hacking websites that supported hacking of games because he liked to match himself against other hackers to see who was the better hacker (plus he liked gaming and hated to see hackers infecting it), but he reckoned that most hackers (whether white-hat, grey-hat or black-hat) were into hacking purely for the challenge of cracking a system, pitting themselves against the programming that someone else had written, and the bragging rights that came with that.
He was nuts though - he used to infect his PC with viruses deliberately just for the "enjoyment" of fixing the problem - which was something I struggled to understand, although in my own terms when I used to do accounts for various banks I did get quite a hit of satisfaction from finding the error in a spreadsheet/database that was throwing out the entire table, and a friend of mine that was a software programmer once told me there was nothing quite as satisfying as finding the error in a line of code that was making an entire program not work properly, so I suspect it's a similar thing with hackers, except in reverse - they're trying to find where they can introduce an error to break a system rather than fix it - and because gaming companies are constantly patching their software to block various hacks I'm guessing that hacking games provides a constant challenge to the hackers that they have to keep adapting to in order to maintain their access.
There have also been documented cases of hackers being autistic and simply not understanding/caring/empathising with the damage or irritation/hassles they cause for others, or in some cases they just treat system-breaking as a game itself and do not even realise that their actions are having consequences on real people.
I think a lot of gaming hackers may be a different breed though - my mate used to look down on most gaming hackers and called them "script-kiddies" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Script_kiddie) - not really hackers at all, but cheaters who were just using hacks that other hackers had written (that the hackers themselves had little interest in using, either because they weren't gamers or because they'd already been banned for it, or they'd just publicised their program as proof of their skill to get kudos from their peers) either to gain an advantage in a game or to upset/annoy legitimate players. I see those kinds of "hackers" as little different from griefers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griefer) in MMORPGs - they just want to upset and aggravate other people, because they figure that gives them power over others (which maybe compensates them for a lack of power/control in their daily lives), and the greatest accolade they can earn is to trigger an emotional response (especially rage) from the people they are upsetting/irritating.
Giving attention to these kinds of griefing hackers is the worst thing you can do because it just encourages them to hack more and to target you (and/or your community) in particular.
Personally I despise hackers and I wouldn't want to open any kind of dialogue with them - I don't think you'd gain much from it, except for perhaps painting a large target on Timeless Gaming for the hacker communities of whichever hackers you tried to open a dialogue with.
timeless has a big history with hackers, and one that we have won every step of the way.
copycat servers, ddos attacks on and on, we have weathered every storm and beaten them at every turn.
gaming hackers are not hackers, they are cheats. they lack the skill to play the game properly and have to pay someone else for software to make them better.
its sad, its pathetic, its cheating.
I laugh at every one we catch (and for those who cannot see beleive me that is a lot)
