View Full Version : 1.40 equals buggy lagfest?
First of all, hi all :) .
I'm a newbie and i've been enjoying timeless servers eversince the start.
However since the 1.40 patch i have run into some strange things. The fights on the titan are very laggy, and i doubt it is from AA spamming. Titan fights on timeless tampa are simply unplayable for me now. It seems not as bad on timeless titan.
On timeless NS I haven't had any lag at all, but once while having a 10+killstreak my sniper rifle started shooting blanks. I was headshotting ppl from 100- meters on non moving targets and nada, not even a body hit.

well again i dont think it is a server side trust m8 ido check on all the server all the time almost on a daly base we been having some master connection problems yes in the last 2 weeks but now i think we are comming to an end of that
try to lower your REzlotion and see if thats helps if yes then you pc need teeking :)
But i haven't had any problems before.. why does it now? and is the inside of a titan so graphical challenging? Close encounters with shooting people increase the lag, yet my effects are on the lowest notch. And i haven't had any problems with it before the patch.
everything is on minimum except the texture setting which is on medium and the view distance at 100% on a nvidea 7650, 2gb ram, vista and 2.1Ghz dual core. Far from uber but it should be enough, it was before.

click ` the type this (renderer.drawfps 1) you should see a red number in top left corner
on it.. will check if everything turned down will make things smoother too.
Ok.. the values range from 50/10 to 30/30.
The game was still pretty laggy. Like when turning scope on it turns it on/of/on, movement spazts 1 to 2 meters from the spot i was standing, and aim jumping around.

LOL Luxury I play with a fps on titans of 14-18 and CQ from 30-40.
I agree but was testing on lowest settings :).
i consider 30 fps is pretty low any thing above 60 is good now try to see this number when the shiled is down and alot of things is happning
eh.. 30/30 was in the middle of the action when shields were down.
humm 30 fps the other 30 i think it is the latansy or the packet that send from your pc to the server and back i think thats is very high
What does it mean? There is something up with my connection (just ran a test: 2549Kb/s download and 160Kb/s download speed with 59ms latency to the new york test site) or something else?
you connection seems to be fine can you ping one of the server ip adress
The advanced search shows me the ping of suez 32 and tampa 35
then i dont think you have any problem
and non of the players seems to have a laag issue as when server start to lag we usuly restart the server but it seem this is not the case over hear i cant think of anything more m8
Thanks for trying to help me out. That's the odd thing about it, it appears just to be me. :( It's a conspiracy i tell ya.

No it's no conspiracy, lately the timeless servers have been so laggy as they are unplayable. Nothing to do with the patch, just seems a different server configuration.
It's not just me either, 5 other guys I play with say the same too.

verytime when the titan shields go down and people use aa gun or too much spamming of nades or enforcers shooting like hell i get laag like hell.
that is the same problem that dessert have some friends of mine have the same problem but it is on all servers inkl. german ones where i have a ping from 16.

Lag is a problem I had to re-install the game with all the patches and low and behold touch wood the lag seems to have stopped for now
Ok, I'll try that..
bf -> 1.25 -> NS -> 1.25 -> 1.40? or should i skip the second 1.25 and go straight 1.40 from ns?
seems like updating my drivers helped some too.

before i updated my punkbuster it went smooth
after the update... bummer

Did you have lag befor you reinstall and did it was lagfree after the install ??
I have bad lags 5 seconds and 2 freeze in 2 Games :-(
yeah it was pretty lagfree before the update.
after the install it was still pretty lagfree.
after updating pb it wasn't anymore tho.
more like scope toggling on/off/on kinda lag.
