ok lets see what do you hate or you think it is stupid rule i personaly like the game as it is (servivale to fittest ) and and the rules we have in Timeless it seem that it is very commen so thay why thay are in timeless but if only if we have a mejortiy saying lets play the game as it is do what ever you want then hell yah ill make one and see how it gose

I like it the way it is. The rules have been changed and discussed and tried countless times.
However listening to popular opinion I think the most hated rule is FF-OFF. Why not change thge setting to 50% so there are few teamkills but no RDX bunny hopping. This would work best on a Gib map or a Titan map.

IMHO, the main reason why Timeless has been so popular is FF OFF 100%. There are plenty of servers out there with FF ON and FF partially ON/OFF - I tend to point this out to people who complain about RDX in-game.
For me, you simply can't beat the mayhem and carnage of titan roof RDX action when the shields are down - it is the most intense experience in 2142 I reckon :)

i like the party that happens on titan roofs it reminde me of going to full jamming night club wel i do have a vip member ship on all Timeless titan roofs mahahaha
Lolz... FF-OFF is the Timeless way. FF-OFF was how i discovered Timeless in the 1st place.
RDX party up top is good fun for a lot of people.
We've dropped FF-OFF for FF-ON in the past and the server dies.
We have not got a great deal of rules to change..... ;)

Maybe not being able to defend Titan when your a commander?
I think maybe if your titans in a bad way and if there arn't enough folks defending it, the commander could make an appearance downstairs to defend it:-?

I think what Ashoof is trying to do is find out what rules we think might be putting people OFF playing on Timeless Titans and not what we think should be added.
K1ll@x Gib server has shot above our Gibralter one although there are several technology reasons for it.
It has ff on, base rape allowed etc. We should not judge the server rules with what we like but what might be the best way to attract new players.
After all where are the reuglars? Haven't seen fish D34mon (COD4 fanatic lol) oppozum J3xaroo C-ZAP etc on the servers for ages. Most obviously have their little passions at the moment like tag hunting, COD4 and will be back soon enough but many many regulars have moved on.
What we need to see is.... is it us? Or is it them?
Ashoof is asking for opinions on the rules to see if there is a reason to change them. At the moment it seems everyone is happy with what we have. (Which is good)

I think your right. Horn3t says the same. I think get over the technology and we have he right format. We just need stable servers.

I've read this thread with interest , and thought i'd stick my 2 penneth worth in, although i think the some won't like what i will say.
I am fairly recent convert from BF2 to 2142, but have now clocked up enough hours on 2142 to hold my own on most servers. The best and worst rule on your servers is the FF = OFF.
With regard to attracting new punters, it is the worse rule - there is nothing more infuriating for a new or inexperienced player than emptying a full mag onto a bunny-hopping rdx'er for him to still blow you away and carry on.
It is also the best rule cos specifically attracts rdx'ers and better players who can hold their own and are happy with this type of play.
catziggy mentioned that the kill@x gib server has jumped above yours, and after playing on both, i can partly understand why.
On your server nearly every player is of very high rank, with a fewer low ranked compared to kill@x
Since they copied your no base raping rule, and with 1.40 cutting out the pod surfing that was rife, i think rookies and newbies now find it easier to survive.
I think if you want to keep your regulars happy and servers full of high standard players then keep things as they are. If it aint broke......
If you want to attract more rookies etc then make FF = ON.

Interesting. Actually we triedd ff on and it didnt work. People fled the server. I think the 50% setting might help but our core admins are ff off die hards.

I have to agree I think with more and more and more and more people taking up this RDX hop tactic the FF=OFF popularity is slowy dripping away, I noticed myself alot of players left this evening when the other team begun to use RDX hopping tactics all over the place, it just ruined the game to be honest.

I think that the formula is right dont change. The problem for most at the moment is the crashing servers it's the time put in sometimes for nothing and it's been a lot lately and not getting any points at all. if its not broken why try and fix it

Well the worst rule brought from BF2 is no base raping, generally I found clan admins abusing this rule to their own advantage.
I think it happened a couple of times on the Timeless Titan servers, admin gets killed in his ground base and then decides to kick/ban for base raping. That's just blatant abuse as your titan is your real base and you can't get base raped there of course.
As for conquest maps, some of the most popular servers don't have imaginary lines you can't cross.
Any good team/players will break out of that situation within a minute, only noobs will find it difficult. In any case they will die quickly anyway. Some people like to give them a 20s run first, that just prolongs their misery lol
In all the time I have played conquest, I very rarely see anyone complaining about being raped, either my side or the other side. The no base raping rule creates an artificial play environment. The odds are always with the team who spawns inthe uncap base, they don't have to run to the action and they are provided with base defences. Any time a member of the invading team gets killed they have to make there way to the base so the defending team always has superior numbers to the invading team.
Yeah so its not as realistic however you have to give a element of fairness to the other team, hence the rule I personally think it is a fair rule, and it isnt like you cannot wait for them just outside their base :)
Sometimes FF=OFF irritates me, i like to play different roles every now and again.. Shotgun/Krylov and a few others.. but it's sometimes literally impossible because 70% of the time someone will pod directly next to me with 1 RDX in their hands.. the people who have a standard weapon have no chance at all, most of the time when I'm at a distance i can easily take them out.. but when people are using 1 RDX all the time it's ridiculous.
I don't mind people using RDX, it does require some skill.. it takes skill to actually detonate it quick with more than 1 in your hand. but the people who just use 1 all the time irritates me like nothing else on this game.
But nothing can be done about the last RDX going off instantly, only DICE and they have already said that patch 1.40 will be the last patch for BF, so it looks like it'll always be that way.

Sadly RAPE does occur and does put people off. Nothing empties a server more than being gang banged by the enmy capturing the walker and raping spawners. The rest of the enemy side join in and before you know most of the baseraped team bail cause as soon as they spawn their dead.
ages ago the gibralter server went up to no 2 in the world because we had a no numpty attitude and no baserape at all tolerance level.
Regulars loved it. Sadly poor server stability issues have caused it to drop.

This whole RDX thing is getting out of hand now, it's okay when perhaps 1 or 2 are doing it but the numbers of people who are doing it now is stupid soon we will have titans defended by nothing but rdx hoppers ?

Not rules as such, but as you rarely see admins on the Titan servers, the mutiny or kick vote might be good to have back? It's annoying when you get some n00b commander who doesn't know where to put a titan, then goes afk or doesn't respond to messages. Admins could 'insist' they listen, or the mutiny vote could be used if the commander is spoiling the round for everyone.

soon? lol. This is the age-old Timeless argument. I personally think it should stay as FF OFF 100% as this is one of the reasons why Timless is so popular IMHO.
One way around this could be to have one of the servers with FF OFF and one with FF ON?

It's a guaranteed kill, takes no skill whatsoever and it purely pisses people off.

I Monitor the titan consoles nearly 8-10 hours aday using 2142cc console. Just because it seems there are no admins online doesnt mean we are not watching lol

yeah this is a pain, from all the different types of servers I've played on I have to say that 100% damage against team mates is terrible, literally 3 stray bullets can get you kick/banned.
Also if 0% damage is done it's also crap. There is some happy medium between dying if the blow up rdx right under their feet and not killing a team mate if he jumps into your line of fire. That would mean people would still be able to use rdx but would have to throw it but would die if they put the rdx directly under their feet or be left with only 5% health.
I think if you blow yourself up twice with rdx then you should definitely die.

I agree with Bulletmagnet. When I first started coming to Timeless, I was impressed and scared in equal measures by the intense mayhem and carnage. I too was frustrated by the RDX-centric style of play, but I adapted with a kind of 'if you can't beat them join them' attitude.
I got used to it and now I personally wouldn't have it any other way - RDX is the only way to fly ;) That said, you do still need to have other strings to your bow, you can't win on timeless with RDX alone.
At the end of the day, if I ask myself why I come to Timeless, the answer is always: 'becuase it's fun!'. For me, trying to survive on a titan roof with bodies flying everywhere is ******* brilliant :D
